In case you’re Dutch or Belgian, or from any country that can receive NPO Cultura, The First US Visit was on today, but it’s on tomorrow again, on NPO Cultura (no s**t). There’ll also be a special about their arrival and concert in the Netherlands, apparently they’ve found some new footage and pictures. Same channel. It’ll be repeated a few times over the day, so you can just pick a time to watch it yourself! Isn’t it amazing? Yes it is.
It is amazing, just not for me… I’ll just have to watch it on the internet.
@Linde what is the Dutch name for the special? Just so I can look it up…

Offline Oh I’m sorry. I just got online. It’s called B-Day in Blokker.
I found that on the website of the channel, and there was a bit about the Dutch Beatlesfanclub site featured too. I have no idea why but I’ve never been on that fanclub website.

HBO will be showing highlights from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony tomorrow. [x-posted to the news thread]The 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony” special is scheduled to premiere at 8 p.m. PDT/EDT. It’s to be repeated June 4 (9 p.m.), June 7 (4:45 p.m.), June 10 (2:30 p.m., 4:15 a.m.), June 16 (5:15 p.m., 2 a.m.), June 22 (8:45 a.m.), June 27 (1:45 p.m.) and June 30 (8:15 a.m.).
It sounds like we aren’t missing much.

The latest instalment in the Australian Beatles celebrations this month is the creation of a week-long “pop-up” digital radio station called The Beatles in Australia on ABC Extra.
Run by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the special Beatles station goes to air from 8.00am (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on Tuesday, June 17. It will run 24/7 until midnight on Tuesday, June 24.

You can listen in three ways. If you live in an Australian capital city and have a digital radio go the the ABC Extra channel. If you don’t have a digital radio, don’t worry – the station will be streamed live online (from next Tuesday) on the ABC Extra site. And the special programs can be accessed on your mobile device using the ABC Radio app. You can get that app here.

Was it him or did they just play the video clip from yesterday? That clip along has been huge news… and I gauge these things by whether or not they bother to mention Beatles-related news on the alternative station I listen to in the morning (the one that interviewed Paul and subsequently hung up on him in the midst of saying Goodbye, lol).

To be fair, the interview was done and Paul was in the midst of saying “By-” and Kevin hung up and then said, “Oops.” He’s gotten a LOT of crap for that, from someone calling in to parody “Hello, Goodbye ” to blaming Paul’s illness on being so heartbroken. It even came up today, “Well, I guess Paul’s gotten over Kevin hanging up on him.”

Offline PBS America in the UK (sky channel 534, Virgin 243) is broadcasting ‘1964’, “A documentary outlining the events of 1964 and the people that helped shaped present-day America during what proved to be a tumultuous year for the nation.” Amongst these events is the Beatles arrival in February.
It’s on Wednesday 2nd July from 9pm till 11:30 – no doubt there will be numerous repeat screenings.
