I only heard about this a few days ago and those pictures are the only ones I have been able to find. I don’t know anything about the music, and if it will be original or not, but I really am disappointed by these images. It is an amazing idea to use today’s technology to make the Beatles episodes much more appealing to the eye (they are amazingly animated but giving the episodes an upgrade seems to be a good idea), but the characters look nothing like the original. I hope that this show doesn’t turn out to be a failure because it could seriously damage the image that younger viewers have about the Beatles. I hope that they did counsel someone who worked on the original cartoon or even got in contact with Paul or Ringo when making this reboot. If they couldn’t do either then maybe they should’ve addressed us, the fans. The fans would be able to judge if this reboot does justice to the original because we are able to judge fan content about the Beatles a lot better than some random 10-year-old who barely knows anything about the Beatles. If this show turned out to be good, then that is amazing that they were able to pull it off. If this shows turned out to be garbage, a lot of us will have a word or two to say to Cartoon Network.
Thank you for you are saying hello, @50yearslate

I used to watch anything when I was young, even to this day, I just watch whatever that is on. Which kid would be like oh it’s the Beatles, I would rather not watch them. They probably won’t even realize it is the Beatles until they are older. Besides, I am going to watch it, just to see what’s up, if I end up being the only viewer, I’m ok with that.
That is very true, did Ringo allow them to make his nose like that? If they didn’t then Ringo better do something about it when he sees it.

Well these days most kids watch what they want to watch with Netflix and Apple TV and that sort of thing… But we’ll see! I’m sure there’ll be plenty of Beatlemaniacs tuning in

I know that I am tuning in. If the music turns it to be trash then that would most likely would stop me from watching it again. It would be nice if they just put in Beatles songs. If they didn’t get consent from Ringo and Paul then I don’t know what Cartoon Network is thinking. Maybe they are more high than the Beatles.

Does he still have to pay to get the Blue Peter annual each year?
(Never mind, it was scrapped years ago.)
Bet Peter Jackson is gutted he can’t lord his BP badge over Paul now.

The BBC report that a documentary on George and Michael Jackson’s appearance on the BBC radio programme ‘Roundtable’ from 9th February 1979 is being aired this Saturday on BBC Radio Solent at 11am, and will be on the iPlayer (actually its now called ‘Sounds’ as it’s radio) not long afterwards.
The interview was wiped by the BBC and was only available in low quality until a new tape was made available and remastered, and excerpts will be broadcast during the broadcast on Saturday.
Why don’t they just air the whole interview and ditch the people who were there at the time who will tell us about what went on and what was said? I’d rather hear George and Michael being humorous, not Harold* who brought the sugar in relating his memories of how humorous they were.
For anyone interested in hearing the full interview and not Harold* it is on YouTube in average quality (tho no worse than some bootlegged material)
*Harold may not appear or even exist

^I’m holding out for Harold, mmm. I need to know how Mike and George took their tea!
Also that BP interview was such a disappointment, yer wan clearly knows nothing about Paul (I also like to think of 16 year old Paul watching BP when it originally aired, as he claimed, yeah sure Paul).
The current presenters are a bit naff, BP wasn’t part of my childhood because I wasn’t a filthy West-Brit child ( >.> ) but from what I did watch, I miss Andy, Helen, Konnie, Joel, and Barney.
For those of you who couldn’t see it, the total interview was about 3 minutes, here’s the last segment from it.

For those of us in the UK, BBC4 are showing a 2018 documentary by Alan Byron, The Beatles: Made on Merseyside, on Friday and Saturday.
The Fab Four had an unrivalled impact on the world of music, but how did their formative years in Liverpool shape the all-conquering group they became? From school bands and skiffle outfits through to concerts in Hamburg and the Cavern Club, this portrait of their early days weaves together archive footage and interviews to chronicle their first musical partnerships, and examines how American Rock ‘N’ Roll and rhythm and blues influenced the distinctive Mersey Sound.
On Friday it’s showing at 9pm, followed by a repeat of 2017’s Sgt. Pepper ‘s Musical Revolution with Howard Goodall at 10.25pm. On Saturday it’s repeated at 11.45pm.
And, yes, @meanmistermustard, I can confirm Pete still has no idea why he was sacked…

The above will be availble on the BBC iPlayer for anyone with access who misses them.
Available on the BBC Sounds section are;
‘The Casbah‘, where the only living being in the known universe who doesn’t know why Pete Best got sacked from the Beatles, Pete Best (yes, he, himself), “celebrates the significant venue where The Beatles enjoyed residency before The Cavern Club”. Expect at least one moment where he states his bafflement at why he got the boot.
‘The Beatles At The Beeb’, Episodes 1 and 2 (oddly enough, for ‘Too Much Monkey Business’ (episode 1), the source is given as the Great Dane bootleg, the sample link is available for use, and yet it plays a piece of classical music).
‘A Year In The Life: The Beatles 1962’, Episode 1 and 2 (available from tomorrow (29th March)).

On Sky Arts channel UK 10pm tonight (not sure if available outside UK) Saturday 7th Sept The Cavern Club: The Beat Goes On….”Documentary reflecting on the history of the Liverpool venue – a favourite haunt of the Beatles.” I saw a post from Mike McGear saying they have discovered some footage of Rory Storm so worth a look. Also they have a whole evening of Lennon/Beatles related programmes:

8:10pm The US vs John Lennon
10pm The Cavern Club: The Beat Goes On
11:30pm The Beatles from Liverpool to San Francisco

To celebrate ‘Abbey Road ‘ being 50, the BBC have been broadcasting a number of Beatles shows on Beatles Radio, a pop-up digital radio station.
There are currently 46 shows so I’m not listing them but they can be found here (availability subject to the date you click on the link (originally for 28 days from broadcast date) and the country you are in). If you miss them then they are available to download for all eternity in the depths of the internet (please, don’t ask where or post links) and no doubt some will be repeated eventually.
