Yip, you can order from amazon uk. Remember that you need a dvd player that can play uk dvds as they are different regions.

Thanks. Hope I have one of those…

HELP ME PEOPLE!!! I don’t have HBO, does anyone know any way I can watch it or do I have to wait for DVD??? This seemed like the most appropriate place to post this….

EDIT: I’m American, they apparently don’t do showings here. Grrrr…blue-meanie

You could sign up for HBO for a few days then cancel your order. They should pro-rate it. Of course, you will need a cable box.

Actually, that sounds like a good if devious idea.

Well, tonight’s the night. Well, for some. But really, for me, tonight’s special. My father’s returning from a business trip, and his birthday was yesterday, so to tonight’s a party. Oh, but I must hurry – my substitute is making the rounds. Neil, thanks.

Scorsese and Olivia H were at the NY showing last night. Both spoke well.

Loved the whole thing though I thought Part 2 could have been edited down a bit and the documentary could have closed on a stronger song.

Harrison, Starr, and Macca were all funny. I forgot how funny Harrison was (not quiet!).

The most unintentionally funny part was seeing Phil Spector looking like an old woman. The whole theater burst out laughing when he first came on.

Dhani and Clapton were quite captivating – as was Spector if you closed your eyes.

[on a minor Lennon note, the Beatles are seen performing an early song (I Saw Her Standing There , I think). Paul's mic isn't working well, so you mainly hear Lennon singing the harmony. Not common, since their voices blended so well.]

The audience in the cinema in Glasgow also burst into laughter when Spector first appeared (should add there wasnt 1 spare seat in the house for the screening).

I would disagree about Long Long Long not being strong enough song to end on as its all about Georges desire and longing to find and be with God , something that was a very important and consuming part of his life/being (tho i love the song so am biased).

Typing of music i was surprised to hear snippets of the 1960 demos and the Hamburg 1962 recordings, even more so that they sounded better than ever before.

I thought Olivia's secret of a good marriage was one of the funniest moments. And Ringo in tears when talking about the last time he was with George and then making a joke downplaying his emotions.

Everywhere you turn you hear and read so much about how they didnt get on but then you see footage and hear interviews and realise/remember that even after the split they really did love and miss each other.heart

Regarding I Saw Her Standing There , on a lot/all of the tours someones mic didnt work at some point so you can get John dominating ISHST, instrumental versions of Boys , and She's A Woman ,  a John only I Feel Fine . There is also a live performance of Things We Said Today with a far louder John vocal, so much so you can hardly hear Paul at times. Thats what happens when the set up is so primitive and at times badly assembled. However there was no chance of them being heard so it didnt matter at the time.

In the movie (its also on youtube but not in such great quality) there is very clear footage of a guy getting on stage and shaking Johns hand!!!! And the security people wait till he's gone before they do anything!!!

And to everyone watching tonight i hope you enjoy it. Let us know what you thought of it.

Olivia really made me laugh at that point too. Then Ringo and Olivia's final comments were just beautiful. I think my favourite part was the comment George made to Paul when they hugged at the Anthology reunion thing. (I'm not sure whether that was footage that has been released before or not, so I won't say what it was until you've all seen it.)

Agree completely with the Olivia comment about marriage and the comment George makes to Paul during their Anthology reunion; also Ringo's quip during his tearful remembrance.

I don't recall the documentary ending with Long, Long, Long .  I thought it ended with an Indian chant – unless that Indian chant is part of LLL…

Another favorite section was Astrid Kirchherr's photographs and her recollection of the events surrounding them.

I'll say again – thanks for the reviews.

What I am really thankful for is that you are all mentioning parts of the film we (who won't see it until it is on DVD in the US) can all look forward to without giving too many details. You guys are very considerate in that regard and I love you for it. Thanks for not spoiling it.

I thought it as the chant first and then long long long played over the credits (i heart heartheartheartheartheartheartheartheartthat song).

I'd like to apologise in advance if i post any spoilers before anyone sees the film. Spring is a long time away to remember what not to write.

For a moment I got really excited…a-hard-days-night-paul-10a-hard-days-night-ringo-14Never mind, always the DVD release. If I can only wait for spring….I'm not the most patient of people.

Neither am I. I was very disappointed in finding out the link didn't work. I don't feel like waiting til spring. The documentary is bound to show up on the internet before then.

If you have a laptop, chances are good you can change the region code and watch the DVD. I have a Sony Vaio laptop and it let's me change the region code 5 times before it locks into the last one you choose. If you are able to do this, then order the DVD from amazon in the UK and won't have to wait until the american release next Spring.

Oh god! Someone needs to post this documentary really soon! It's hard to avoid the posts on Tumblr in reaction to movie. I would like to know for myself. I'm also avoiding everything in this post. So I'm going to assume you all (who saw it) enjoyed the documentary and love George a little more than you did before.
