I keep seeing references to “Complete Rooftop” footage, but what specifically is missing from the original? Are you referring to the dropped out bits of ‘One After 909 ‘ (Reminiscent of ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘ from the Shea Stadium film) where there’s commentary from the public below? Are there more songs/takes that were edited out?…:-)

I think he means the complete 44 minutes of visual footage as only about half of the concert is seen in the movie.

Yip. The version of I’ve Got A Feeling on Naked is an amalgamation of the two, as is Don’t Let Me Down .
They performed Get Back three times, Dont Let Me Down and I’ve Got A Feeling twice, and One After 909 and Dig A Pony once each (Dig A Pony has a false start that you can also hear on the LIB album + a couple of lines of Danny Boy at the end, again on the Let It Be album). Also thrown in during the concert was a bit of the I Want You (She’s So heavy) riff and a brief rendition of God Save The Queen.
All of this has been booted numberous times, the most complete being Yellow Dogs ‘Complete 2cd Rooftop Concert‘.
All of the concert was filmed so footage of both performances of I’ve Got A Feeling will exist in Apple’s vaults, whether or not any of it has been released in promo’s etc i don’t know.

Wow, I had no idea there was so much extra content edited out. I haven’t listened to the ‘Naked’ album in awhile (I much prefer Spector’s version) and I don’t recall hearing much difference in ‘I’ve Got A Feeling ‘ from the original other than Billy Preston’s keys being more audible. This information further cements my disdain for the ‘Naked’ project, all we heard was how this was supposed to be “how it was meant to be”, yet they resort to fusing together two takes to achieve the original vision of unedited live performances?! Apparently Paul McCartney ‘s definition of “Naked” includes photoshopping the extremities to appear younger than they really are to those who’ve never seen one before. I must seek out some of this “Complete Rooftop” audio now that I know what’s missing, I really want to hear what little there is of ‘I Want You (She’s So Heavy)’ for it probably would sound pretty heavy up on the roof, especially if all four are playing during this snippet…:-)

I think what the majority of us can agree on is just how ludicrously unfathomable it is that ‘Let It Be ‘ still hasn’t seen the retail light of day.
Bootleg out on Blu Ray, but hardly any better than DVD quality

Kind of anti-climatic, just John (or George) messing about to get some levels. This “new” information (“new” to me anyway) has changed my perceptions of the whole Rooftop Concert, instead of being their last public performance where they’re going for it, it appears to have been nothing more than just another day of ‘Get Back Sessions’ only they moved everything up to the rooftop for a change of scenery for some added drama, maybe they should just “Let It Be ” as is…:-)

There is existing footage from all of the main performances including their respective doubles. There are alternate angles for all of the songs, except for the second takes of I’ve Got A Feeling and Don’t Let Me Down (not including spectator footage, because I don’t know when those take place exactly, and I could be wrong about DLMD take 2).

My 2 cents. I sure as hell would like a brand new copy of LIB to watch. I taped it on VHS the last time it played on tv here in Ontario, Canada (as far as I know). Since I saw it several times when it came out it seemed to me there was at least a few scenes that were cut or shortened (if my memory serves me well). Yes it does seem strange that it remains officially unreleased but there is always a holy grail or two when it comes to collecting and LIB is a big one warts and all.
