I was meaning for that to be a joke actually. I learned in American History he wrote a book called Common Sense and was like, “Hey! I'll use that for a comeback!” What I should have said is that it is common sense to know why they went into the water and got naked: because the world being round turned them on in the field.
Dude, I really need to quit being so freaking detailed like Ms. Simmons. SHE'S GETTING TO ME, MAN!
Btw, what are we having for lunch?
Thursday night your stockings needed mending.

Erm, I don't mean to be rude, but do you think you could keep these to a separate thread? It kind of derails everything if you talk about people nobody else knows in a conversation about something completely different.
Feel free to start something random in the All Together Now section.

The movie was OK. Visually, it was stunning. The art direction was amazing. And the singing was good, but I just felt the plot was slapped together, like someone said “OK, we have all these songs to use. How can we make a plot of them all?” All the characters named after Beatles songs, Sadie, Lucy, Jude, JoJo, Dr. Robert, Prudence. It seemed way too fan-fictiony to me, like the ones I've read about the girl named Michelle that Paul ends up falling in love with, so much so, he'll eventually write a song, of course.
It was nowhere near as bad as that Sgt. Pepper Bee Gees monstrosity, but nah, it wasn't great.

I watched the movie last night, and I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed it..
I have read this thread before watching the movie and was prepared for the worst, which turned out to be a good strategy
Since this was the first time that I listen to Beatles songs being covered, it took me a while to get used to the idea..
While I agree that it isn't a great movie critically, the acting was good and the songs ranged from really good covers (I Want You) to some annoying ones (Don't Let me Down – this might be because I don't even like the original song ). Some characters felt like they were super imposed on the storyline, like prudence who played absolutely no role in the plot – which at certain parts felt quite flimsy.
But I watched all 2 hours and 13 minutes of it, without having to force myself to continue. I give it
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on!

I really love this movie. My first introduction to the Beatles really. Cinematography is amazing. The acting by two lead guys of Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Max (Joe Anderson) were very good. I enjoyed their songs the most especially I Want You, Strawberry Fields, and Happiness Is A Warm Gun . I wasn't to thrilled with Lucy's (Evan Rachel Woods) character or her songs. Sorta killed Blackbird and If I Fell for me for a long time. Some covers were great like I Am The Walrus and Let It Be (saddest scene) while It Won't Be Long and Don't Let Me Down weren't the greatest. I've Just Seen a Face is one of my fav scenes. I saw it the trailer and was thoroughly intrigued to watch the movie. The plot was all over the place but it was in essence a romance and it fulfilled the requirements. But wasn't the 1960s a time where nothing totally made sense and was all over the place with a bit of confusion mixed in?
I can see why not everybody likes it. It isn't the greatest movie ever, but I love it enough to be called a favorite. Without this movie, there would be one less Beatle fan in the world.
Oh hey wassup *17*

I protested this movie for so long. I finally gave into curiosity though and really found it quite surprising. I definitely agree with the most common dislikes about it; choppy plot, missed character development, Bono. I did enjoy the quick reference snips like “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window ” and “this is Rita” it seemed to me like it was more of giving a little back to big fans, they would get somethings not everyone would. I cringe when I hear covers but Let It Be was just absolutely amazing, with the imagery as well as the vocals, I can't say enough good things about this song. What is that about searching for easter eggs? or was that nothing?

The cover songs r pretty gud
The film is too, although it drags for me
Jude is my fav character, my niece thought he looked like Paul 🙂
He definitely looks like Paul! He even has the same crow's feet. And his mannerisms are very Paul alike as well (perhaps intentionally). I like looking at him.
Yeah, finished the movie yesterday, and I was pretty disappointed with it. I felt like it was a series of cover Beatles music videos made into a movie, which in an essence it is I suppose. Some of the covers were good, like Blackbird , though Pennylane didn't seem to like it… And others were just awful (like Mr Kite, and the music video that went along with it, I know they tried to make it seem “psychedelic”, but it ended up just looking like they ran out of money).
I don't think the actors were necessarily bad, the script was just so shallow that it was impossible to make a stunning performance out of it. I cringed at the Hey Jude scene; not because the cover was horrific(it was ok), but because it was so corny and void of realism, well, the whole movie sure lacked it(not that musicals in general are too realistic, for that matter).
For the protagonist and a few good songs, I give it one and a half apples ( and one extra for Stuart references)
