Who plays James Bond these days? I haven’t seen one in a long time.
Daniel Craig.
Thought I had clicked the movies thread by accident 🙂

Daniel Craig but its looking like its his last going by comments he’s been making even before the film was released.

NME has the exclusive for one of the ‘We Can Work It Out ‘ promos – tho for some reason I cannot watch it now when I could earlier.

You were ‘slagged off by the N.M.E.’ But don’t worry, you’re in good company

Start again with Casino Royale……It’s the best Bond ever….I gave up on Bond after Roger Moore’s first one, ‘Live And Let Die ‘ which was good until the last 20 mins.
I watched some of the others………but less than enthused…No one came close to Connery’s first 5…..
But….Daniel Craig’s outings have been more gritty. There is a linkage in all 4 films so if you watch them in order they’d make more sense……And if you don’t take to Casino Royale you can give the rest a miss and save your money.

I really like ‘Live And Let Die ‘, certainly the best of Roger Moore’s films. After that there is very little to entice except for when Jaws appears.
However this is a Beatles not a Bond thread.
Paste Magazine have posted an article with Michael Lindsay-Hogg and Giles Martin speaking about the soon to be released ‘1+’. One of the more interesting excerpts is
Lindsay-Hogg is among those who saw who they were in-person. He directed the Beatles’ promotional video for “Paperback Writer ,” for example, one version of which showed the band going through the motions of playing their instruments on the grounds of Chiswick House, an 18th century mansion in West London.
Beatles manager Brian Epstein had put the kibosh on Lindsay-Hogg’s original idea to shoot the band in a kind of newspaper office for the video while McCartney would be shown writing a novel at his desk, to go along with the lyrics for “Paperback Writer .”
I’m glad that was scrapped as its sounds incredibly naff.
Examiner review of the DVD’s and CD.

Agreed! Connery was the Man! I Got that big 007 Blu Ray Box set and love watching the old ones more than the new ones. I guess I will have room right beside it for the new Beatles #1 Blu Ray box set!
(see what I did there, I stayed on topic)

Now uploaded on the Beatles YouTube Vevo channel.
Will all the folk who complained that the Rock Band videos featured Beatles playing instruments that they didn’t play on the actual record be moaning that George didn’t play guitar on ‘We Can Work It Out ‘?

Ok, some bad news for those who’ve ordered the deluxe Blu Ray edition from Amazon – it appears they’ve made a massive cock-up. See the discussion threads lower down on the product’s page:refRID=1JGHKMCKA3EW5VHN1D16
Thanks. I saw the descriptions on Amazon a while back and they have made this sort of mess with other similar multiple configuration items so I decided not to order from them.

I’m a little in limbo – mine has already despatched, but user comments on Amazon seem to confirm that it’s the wrong thing, despite the site’s description.
Base.com are selling it for £32.99, delivered, so cheaper than Amazon in any case.
It’s annoying, I ordered ages ago and paid a small amount extra to receive it on the release day. Why are we just finding this out now?

You can see John on lead harmonium……….Apparently it’s the same one that Ena Sharples played at the Glad Tidings Mission in Coronation Street.
Where have all the hair-nets gone?

One of the “joys” of the modern age and online ordering – cheaper than “bricks and mortar” but you can’t get your hands on the box and see exactly what you are buying.
