I recommend a biography of Paul McCartney called ‘Fab: An Intimate Life of Paul McCartney ‘ by Howard Sounes. It’s a great read, over 500 pages long. I really enjoyed it

Colin Hanton (the original Quarrymen drummer) is releasing his autobiography on the 28th May 2018.

Will be an interesting read anyways even if it is rehashing the same old story we’ve heard a million times over.

I’ll leave it to someone more skilled than I to insert the BB-Amazon companion link.

@fabsies Yes, I’ve read it. Personally, I found it a great read – I learnt quite a lot of things. It was a very in depth look at one of the Beatles’ best year.

I’d highly recommend it.john-lennon-salute_gif

I just listened to an episode of a podcast called “Things We Said Today ” and they were talking to an author of the book The Fourth Beatle.  It seems to be pretty cool.  It is in preorder right now and he has collected up some music to go with it.

Not 100% a Beatles’ book but Eric Idle is publishing his autobiography in October. There should be at least a few George stories in it as they were great friends.

Eric’s last book ‘The Greedy Bastard Diary’ in 2005 had a load of George stories in particular concerning the end of George’s life. Very good book for any Python fans.

I wonder how fed up Eric is of singing Always Look….

Also, if that is the final cover then it looks shocking, very dull.

Not a very new book but I heard about The Beatles Recording Reference Manual (Vol 1 & 2) on Something About the Beatles podcast with the author and it sounds interesting.

Here’s a new book on Rubber Soul : Becoming Artists: The Beatles’ Rubber Soul

Available on Amazon and iBooks.

Here’s the blurb: Becoming Artists explores the writing, recording and influence of The Beatles’ 1965 Rubber Soul album. With a primer on the recording processes used in Abbey Road studios and details on the album’s songs, the timelessness and far-reaching influence of Rubber Soul is chronicled in painstaking detail for old fans, new fans, and those who have yet to discover the genius of the Fab Four.

Does anyone know if this new john and Yoko imagine book will have much information and words in it or is it mainly just photos? I’m very tempted just to pre order it.

Does anyone have any further information about Ray Connolloy’s new book, Being John Lennon : A Restless Life? I haven’t managed to see any reviews about it yet.

This article is behind a paywall, but it isn’t too expensive (£1) if you want to pursue it.
