The books called Unseen Archives. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, as I'm still having some problems using the search function. I picked up this book second-hand, not realizing that it's more of a picture book and less text. This is a roughly 400 page hard-cover written by Marie Clayton and Garreth Thomas, published in 2002 in the UK. It has a large number of black and white glossy photographs that I've never seen online, so it's interesting to go through. The photographs seem to span his life from the early Beatle days through his times with Yoko Ono. For anyone who's a real John Lennon fan, I think you'd enjoy it.

It's one of a series of "Unseen Archives" books covering various celebrities which used images drawn from the Daily Mail's photo library. There was also an edition covering The Beatles. I have both.
