Interesting article 2 days ago in the New York Times explaining how our mind can combine past events into a single false recollection. (Ex: G Emerick ‘remembering’ “Blackbird ” as having been recorded outdoors?)

This is relevant to this thread to the extent that we tend to rely on those ‘who were there’ because, well, they should know.

In fact, that’s McCartney’s entire premise in his recent song “Early Days

Sometimes, deciding what’s an error can be tricky.

I know your default tendency is to assume the best case scenario, but I read the Emerick book. That’s being far too kind. The reality is the man is a little crazy.

Out and about. Back for the near future, although I make no promises beyond that

Same. I feel this on a spiritual level.

(I couldn’t find a thread for this book, so this is the best place I found to put this.)

I recently got A Hard Day’s Write by Steve Turner as a present and I have to say this book is riddled with typos and mistakes. It really could have used some more serious editing. I can’t remember that much off the top of my head, but here are some examples:

– “[…] so then Paul wrote the line ‘So I quite the police department'”

– When talking about AHDN : A picture of the Beatles on a sled from the movie Help ! with the caption: “This one will sleigh you: the band pile on top of a sledge for the shooting of A Hard Day’s Night film.”

– Instead of correctly referring to the song From Me To You as such, he writes ‘With Love From Me To You ‘.

I can’t remember the rest, but I know there are more. It’s very annoying and it makes the author lose some credibility in my mind if he couldn’t be bothered to check it.

Maybe Turner should have subtitled his book Help ! I Need A:  Temporary — Secretary!

a coffee dessert, yes you know it's good news...
