What, another Beatles book? Do we really need another? And a photo book at that? Hang on, because this might actually be a good one.
A Day In The Life Of The Beatles is published in October 2010. It contains a number of previously-unseen photographs taken by the acclaimed British photojournalist Don McCullin, who in 1968 was asked to photograph The Beatles in various London locations. Many of the pictures taken that day have been used all over the place (including the cover of Many Years From Now and the first edition of Revolution In The Head, and the gatefold for the Red and Blue albums), and the day became known as the Mad Day Out. Jonathan Cape has acquired world rights to a photographic title documenting A Day In The Life of The Beatles.
Cape editor Mark Holborn bought the rights in the book by photographer Don McCullin from Abner Stein.
A Day In The Life of The Beatles contains images taken on “The Mad Day Out” in 1968 when The Beatles were at the pinnacle of worldwide fame and recording the White Album .
Other than three pictures, the publisher claims the images have never been seen before. One of the most striking images is a picture of John Lennon posing as though he were dead.
Holborn said: “For a younger generation this is going to be a look back but it is of a period which, to them, is history. For all those who were growing up in the 1960s it will be their Christmas book. It taps into a memory of another time.”
The book has the full approval of Sir Paul McCartney and includes quotations from him. A Day In The Life of The Beatles will be published as a £20 hardback on 8th December.
NB the above says it's published on John Lennon 's deathday, but Amazon lists it as coming out in October (dates vary between the stores).

Interesting! I'd love to get that book! (BTW I can't watch the pic)
I just saw the pic about John's posing as as if he were dead lasts night. I didn't want to post it here because it truly gave me the chills… I'll search for the pic in my netbook's browser history.
