I would have
George Harrison (1970) on Lead Vocals and Rhythm/Lead Guitar
Mark Knopfler (1978) on Lead Guitar
Elton John (1971) on Piano
Brian Wilson (1965) on Bass
Ginger Baker on Drums.
This would be a primarily studio band that has Brian Wilson behind the controls and lots of session musicians.
They would also go into extended Jams on stage with a full horn section.

But that is just stupid, @Dark Overlord. She does not play any form of keyboard instrument, which is why Miles has been working with her since 2008. You have chosen a keyboard player who doesn't play a keyboard. What type of supergroup has an instrumentalist who cannot play their instrument?
There's imaginary, and then there's complete fiction.
By your rules, why not have Ringo on lead guitar, Eric Clapton on violin, Yo-Yo Mar on drums, and Nancy Shevell on bass?

Only works if Yoko is on lead vocals

Thanks AG...I couldn't recall what I'd said on that thread either...
Here's a group that's not song-oriented; rather, they specialize in instrumental jams and grooves, with elements of jazz, funk, punk and avant-garde experimentation. (Plus maybe some other stuff.)
Lead and rhythm guitar - Bruce Anderson (MX-80 Sound)
Rhythm and lead guitar - Pete Cosey
Bass - Leigh Gorman (Bow Wow Wow)
Keyboards, synthesizer - Bernie Worrell (P-Funk)
Saxophones, Reeds -- Ralph Carney
Drums - Tony Allen (Africa '70)
Other drums, percussion - Jaki Liebezeit (Can)

I made one of these a while back in a different thread about Beatles supergroups, inventing a band with Paul and Neil Young that I still think would kick ass.
I’ll make my ultimate jam band here
Lead Singer/Rhythm Guitar - John Bell (Widespread Panic)
Lead Guitar - Brian Moss (Spafford)
Bass - Joe Dart (Vulfpeck)
Keys - Kyle Hollingsworth (String Cheese Incident)
Drums - John Fishman (Phish)
Here is a band of modern people I would love to see formed. Definitely a folk group
Lead Singer/Rhythm Guitar - Joseph Terrell (Mipso)
Lead Guitar - Josh Turner
Mandolin - Chris Thile
Bass - Wood Robinson (Mipso)
Here is an old school supergroup
Lead Guitar - Jerry Garcia
Keys - Nicky Hopkins
Bass - Rick Danko
Drums - Ringo Starr

Here's a concept for a funky jazz fusion band from the early 70s (this one almost happened between Miles, Jimi and Paul)
Miles Davis - Trumpet
John Coltrane - Tenor Saxophone
Jimi Hendrix - Lead Guitar
John McLaughlin - Lead Guitar
Herbie Hancock - Keyboards
Paul McCartney - Bass
John Bonham - Drums
Maybe including Coltrane in this is a bit fantastical, since he died in 1967 and was more of a free jazz guy than a fusion guy, but I think this lineup would otherwise be pretty plausible and would sound great together. The only weak link would be Paul (NOT that he's a bad bassist or anything, he's amazing, just maybe not funky enough for this style of music) but since Jimi and Miles were considering him anyway for their project, I think they must have thought him a good fit for what they were planning to do.

That gave me a chuckle imagining Cage incorporating 4"33 into his performance, sat at the piano while the others jammed.

Yeah, I really enjoyed his bass playing in a Vulfpeck video you posted awhile back.
I wish to add my supergroup: Yoko Ono on vocals/knitting

David Gilmour (guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass, vocals, whateverelse Paul plays, which is everything), David Crosby & Graham Nash (beautiful singings), Rick Wright on keyboards, and Ringo Starr for drums & good measure, I guess, although I'm not overly particular about who plays drums (it could just as well be Nick Mason or Steve DiStanislao).
Make it happen please. Preferably a whole album of original music but otherwise:
'On An Island'
'Here, There, and Everywhere'
'Deja Vu'
Guest vocalist & extra song: David Bowie on 3D 'Comfortably Numb'.

Not exactly a cover, more of a duet with an old friend.
