Im on computer. I figured out how to @ people pretty easily. What I ment was when Mr. Horse @tted me I didn't get the little pop up at the top of my screen.

About my BB project, I'm mostly trying to lay the foundation, kinda like making a timeline of BB. I've also noted some distinct "eras" or "periods" or, whatever term one might use to describe a legnth of time, in BB's history. I could share more about my project through PM, just keep in mind I'm just starting it and it's a little bare bones. I was thinking a while back you could help me because of how long you've been on the forum, how well you know it/how to navigate it and the fact your a modertaor.

I'm almost always online because I either am checking the forum over and over again or I'm reading the entierty of some ancient, crusty, dormant, thread from 2015 where everyone on the forum is aruging over the exact lenght of Paul's toenails on the Abbey Road cover.

I've done this kinda thing so much to the point were I've learned several jokes and phrases that haven't been used for years. I feel like I'm studying the culture and history of the forum like some anthropologist. I've also started to put together a "Beatles Bible Timeline and eras" project with a little help from @yopple . I wish I had the confidence to ask other users to help me out but... NO I will struggle instead, asking others is too hard. Expecting me to talk to others, oh boy, what has this world come to.

(Weird, Mr. Horse's @ didn't worka-hard-days-night-ringo-8)

@Ahhh Girl I miss the Name Beatles picture  game from when it started 10 years ago. Back then the forum was so popular people would post at the same time and joek around, and Ahhh Girl would ruminate about how wonderful it was - anything from chemistry to sofa cushions can remind you of a Beatles song!

It's terrible just how lonely this forum has gotten, But in Strawberry Fields, 8-9pm was when Sigh Butterful logged on, 3-4pm was when Richard, Ahhh Girl and Von Bontee log on, 5am is always @Jolly Jimmy with a Baker's Doen contribution, and a handful of other obscure users (@grimtraveller) who log on mid-day at 10-noon.

Okay finally someone said what I've been thinking. I know I often look at the older state of the forum and wonder what it was like to have so many people online at once. Maybe we're just in a bit of a dry spell when it comes to regular users and new posts. I'm sure there's been periods in BB history were posts and regular posters were a little hard to come by. Users come and go and the regulars of the forum change throughout the years. I think we just aren't getting enough new users that want to come out of their shells and post. I think as long as people are using this forum more people will come and join.

I recall this came up in January of 2023 -- see this first comment then continue scrolling for other responses (including more of mine, and one from Joe)

At least this forum isn't as bad as Twitter or Substack, where 98% of my comments go completely unnoticed.

Now today I find, you have changed your mind

I'd do miss most of the former Forumpudlians. I've tried to entice many of them back via PMs, but no luck. *sigh*

I just try to stay in the present for the current users. You never know who you'll meet and what will happen next.

I love the users that are here and I’m glad we’re still posting. It’s entirely possible some who aren’t will return one day. As long as there’s life there’s hope. a-hard-days-night-john-1But even if that doesn’t happen, the love will remain.
