So, there was a bit of confusion over at the Paul is the best screamer of all time thread, where I debated who actually was the best. That’s not the point of that thread, so this is. Hoping to get a mod to move the mini-discussion on this topic from that thread.
I nominated Kurt Cobain as well as Paul.
Cobain has the hovering on out of control feel to him. See the chorus of Smells Like Teen Spirit. One of his best tracks is Scentless Apprentice from In Utero. He screams the verse, each line punctuated by a screaming guitar riff. The vocals and guitar work are amazing, it’s an extremely underrated song. Give it a listen if you haven’t.
For Paul’s case, see Helter Skelter . I rest my case.

A lot of threads about screaming ………I’d nominate Roger Daltrey if only for his YEAaaaaaaaaaaa from “won’t get fooled again”
In all seriousness, good answer.
Roger Daltrey is one of my favorite singers of all time.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

Paul wasn’t just a good screamer; he is one. To only consider his Beatles era is to do him a huge disservice. If anything, his vocal style, screams included, have become far more diverse after the Fabs broke up. It’s no longer the carefully controlled ‘aaaaaaah-whooooo’ screams (which still crack me up whenever I hear them because they sound like he’s having so much fun doing them), or the ‘Oh! Darling ‘ roars, we get a whole new array of screams, cries, yelps, and whatnot. And they’re not always that controlled anymore either; it’s like he feels it’s okay to just let ’em rip, which is wonderful to hear. So, to me, Paul is the best screaming vocalist, if only for the sheer variety in his screams, and because he’s still screaming with the best of them at 73! Now that’s impressive.

What she said!
I don’t habitually listen to screaming rockers other than John and Paul, so I couldn’t nominate anyone impartially. So I’ll just say…
PAUL!!!

I couldn’t possibly decide on anyone in particular because there are sooo many but Paul is a major possibility. Listen to the caterpauling (don’t tell SG that I nicked her word) in Oh Woman Oh Why for a great example.
Another obvious one is Jon Bon Jovi.

I’m surprised nobody’s thought to mention Little Richard, without whom…

How dare you?!
Just kidding, when I coin a phrase or word I want people to use it. It pleases me that you’ve adopted my term
And yes, Little Richard is certainly a contestant.
