It’s a good thing to know how to drive. Where I live it’s practically essential as there is no public transport (in saying that I’m the only one of my friends to have a full licence so I’m taxi driver for the time being). Another of my friends is on a learner’s permit (for the past 2 years) and I never plan on getting in a car with her at the wheel even when she has her full licence.

Also, for emergencies if you’re ever out in the bog end of nowhere, with no signal, and something happens and you’re the only one who can drive-it would be very beneficial!

Why has your friend had a permit for 2 years, i thought that drivers permits lasted for 6 months, are they really supposed to last that long in Ireland or did your friend do something wrong.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

They last for 2 years here and she’s just coughashitdrivercough. If she doesn’t have her full licence by next month she’ll have to renew it (scarlet for her).

My provisional license runs out next month. I don’t care in the slightest. The last person you would want driving on the road is me.

Never had a driving license in my life, though I did drive illegally on the road once or twice in the mid-’80s.

Luckily, I have had the advantage of living in London and its suburbs all my life, and public transport on the whole is reasonably good.

Had a 2002 Lexus LS430 which I totaled, so I now occasionally drive my mom’s car, the Acura MDX.

I wish I had a car. It would make my life a whole lot easier.

It would make my life easier too as I’d probably be dead.

No car for me because I only have a Volkswagen van that I have owned since new 13 years ago.  It’s looking a bit battered these days but still goes well.

I’ve had my permit since 2013. I was planning to get my license this summer but I had a seizure and was told I now can’t operate a vehicle until November. I really don’t even like driving anyways, but I kind of live in the middle of nowhere, so I can’t get anywhere without a car.

I’ve just realized I got my first driving licence in 1973!  That was only for a souped up moped kind of thing got around the UK law at that time.  In ’74 I passed the proper test for bigger motorcycles.  Then I got my car licence in 1977 which was the same year I got married.  It was all within the Wings period. I went from school and Another Day (not strictly Wings according to my copy of the single because it was credited to a ‘Mr and Mrs McCartney’) through to Mull Of Kintyre .  All great memories.. a-hard-days-night-paul-7

I still am driving my ’98 white Honda Civic. It’s been having issues lately, but It’s running fine now. I’m hoping I can get a few more years out of it when I come back and head to college.

My family has a 2016 Honda Civic. I think it’s the third one we’ve had. They’re good cars. Very reliable.

We’ve had the car in the family for 19 years now. It only recently became primarily my car when my parents bought a new car for the first time in like 15 years last year. It’s always been reliable, but recently some 19 year old parts had to be replaced.
