Currently listening to Holst’s Planets suite, but I did go through and listen to a bunch of McVie-written Fleetwood Mac songs earlier. What a lovely voice she had.

This has become one of mine and my husband’s songs. Not like romantic, but like go to song. I listened to song one day during the summer as like a good luck song when he was transferring departments. Normally, at his job you have to be there 6 months before transferring. He was there two weeks, but wasn’t understanding the material for the trade. He was able to make the transfer. I showed him the song and he fell in love with it. We grew up port cities, me more than him, and now he works at a shipyard, so we can relate to Liverpool (old Liverpool). Listen to it almost everyday.

Been on a big Smokey Robinson/Miracles kick for awhile, right now it’s their 3rd LP, “I’ll Try Something New” from ’62. And considering what huge fans Our Boys were of Smokey, I’m guessing that John freely adapted the opening couplet of “I’ve Been Good To You” for “Sexy Sadie “

@Neely, I didn’t get to Huey’s this trip. Maybe next time I come to the Memphis area to visit Ahhh Mom I will go there.
