I was going to moan that ‘Love Me Do ‘ wasn’t on ‘Oldies But Goldies’ however it’s ‘Oldies But Goodies’.

Yes, it’s a beautiful recording of Here, There And Everywhere
I also appreciate Sean’s comments: “A little birdy told me this was one of your fav Beatles tunes. So Happy Birthday ! Thank you for all the beautiful music. You have mine and the whole world’s undying love and respect.”
Coming from Sean, those lovely words must mean a great deal to Paul.

Grandparents bought me that single as a gift for passing Grade 2…as a young kid with a modest record collection, I thought it was pretty neat that all three of my Paul/Wings 45s had completely differing labels: “Uncle Albert ” on Apple, “Listen” on black Capitol with the orange/red planets, and “Hi Hi Hi ” (another grandparent-purchase from two years previous) on red Capitol. (Four years later, my “Goodnight Tonight” single on Columbia would become my fourth one with its own unique label.) I still really like “Listen” as a single, even Tom Scott’s sax fills are cheerful, and I usually hate his playing. (And indeed I do dislike the song’s lazy outro, with him tootling away…)

Can’t remember who it was but the BBC were meant to be showing a performance by some musician at Glastonbury (must have been someone I knew even tho it was on in the background) but instead St Vincent came on who I’d never heard of. Kept her on and the music was intriguing; upbeat with enough madness to keep me interested. Here’s her set from there.
Have three months free on the Deezer streaming site so downloaded her catalogue and have been listening to Masseducation; it’s a very enjoyable listen.

Also caught a bit of Alison Kraus and Robert Plant at Glastonbury so checked out their albums together (I know some of Alison’s work with Union Station and solo, she has a fantastic voice); they are far better live as the studio material is pretty staid.
