I have continued my TISM marathon by listening to the following albums:

Hot Dogma (1990)

Beasts of Suburban (1992)

Machiavelli and the Four Seasons (1995)

http://www.tism.wanker.com (1998)

De RigueurMortis (2001)

tism.bestoff (2002)

And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

I’m listening to “Those Were The Days” performed by Mary Hopkin and written by Paul McCartney *. Mary Hopkin has a good voice, her version of Ave Maria is wonderful. I could see Paul singing this song, I’m not sure if a version exists.

*Edit: Produced by Paul McCartney , my bad. paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif Thanks @Ron Nasty.

Produced by Paul, @TangerineTrees, but not written by him. It’s a Russian song, Dorogoi dlinnoyu, written by Boris Fomin and first recorded in 1925. Gene Raskin wrote English lyrics in the early ’60s, with it first being released by the Limeliters in 1962.

Beatlebug said yesterday
In honor of Nick Mason’s birthday:
Was: Pink Floyd – Obscured By Clouds (1972)
Am: Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon (1973)

I meant to listen to Animals too (Nick’s drumming on that album is especially on point), but I just about fell asleep in the middle of DSOTM (I remembered almost nothing between On The Run and Money), so I called it a night there. I did listen to Animals today, though.

Anyway, right now, I’m listening to this lovely Tibetan ballad, which was so politically inconvenient it got its author arrested:

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Stumbled upon this very nice ballad by Gerry Marsden, recorded two years after the Pacemakers split:

"Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles... "
