I’m listening to Penny Lane (Magical Mystery Tour .) I’m holding a Beatles marathon, just 4 more albums to go!

Ugh, no offense because I think Gene Simmons as a person is alright, but I think Kiss is a joke.

Genesis – Supper’s Ready. Classic.

Exact opposite for me: Enjoy the earliest Kiss albums but think Simmons is a huge jackass.

Listening to: Eddie Henderson, “Mars In Libra”

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

My wife loved Simmons Family Values, but I never cared for it because of Simmons’ attention-starved limelight hogging persona. Paul Stanley- who’s a bit more levelheaded, but not by much- said in the recent Rolling Stone that Simmons is all about Simmons and nothing else, which sounds about right.

Here’s another band I’m listening to now that made the Hall of Fame last night, and IT’S ABOUT TIME:

I know it’s a big surprise, but I felt like I had to get it out there. You know, to continue the Hall of Fame theme.

And since this thread is on a HOF trek at the moment, here’s Nirvana covering Kiss…

Well, if we’re talking Nirvana and the great Kurt Kerbang, I am reminded of this little ad-lib…

I found a setting on my computer that lets you adjust EQ so that it can simulate an environment for listening. And, with my environment set to “Auditorium” and my EQ set to “Live”, it honestly sounds like a live show. It’s fantastic. So I’m just giddily running through my iTunes library finding songs I want to hear live. It’s pretty convincing.

Oasis-Don’t look back in anger

I never found this song to be special or anything, but yesterday I saw a live performance on tv, and for the first time I paid attention to the lyrics and to Noel’s voice, and I came to the conclusion that he has a nice singing voice and that the lyrics are great, and all of a sudden I was in love with this song.

Right now I’m listening to my struggling attempt at doing the whistling in Jealous Guy . Ironic, I’m a jealous guy about John’s whistling skills.

Don’t Look Back In Anger is one of the very few, well three to be exact, Oasis songs that don’t bore me senseless. And no Wonderwall isn’t amongst the other two, those are Songbird and The Importance of Being Idle.

I agreed with George that Oasis would have been better without Liam who’s voice i find incredibly monotonous.

Suppose i should keep one thread on topic.

Having gotten a couple of John bootlegs i’m listening to Plastic Ono Band outtakes.

I actually like Oasis. I’ve got 5 of their albums. Definitely Maybe is really good. Live Forever, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, and Don’t Look Back In Anger being four favorites.

Awesome first three tracks, maybe one of the best 3 songs to lead off an album?:

A landscape monochrome photograph of U2 in the desert sits in the center of a black background. U2 are standing on the left half of the photograph, with a mountain range on the right half. Tiny gold text reading "THE JOSHUA TREE U2" is stretched across the top of the black background.Image Enlarger
