Interesting about the post(s) above–the sounds of silence (in some way); as having seen The Graduate (love that movie) on TCM over the weekend, I’ve been on a Simon and Garfunkel kick of late. Forgot how good they were. Bookends is a favourite album of theirs.

There were times I wanted to. It is good that I got out of the classroom.

Not that I know of, though I’m a Catholic school survivor and got the classic “ruler on the knuckles” form of discipline more than once. Those teachers were MEAN.

Listening to the classical-music station, to what sounds like some kind of concerto for flute, harp and orchestra. Doing a bit of Googling informs me that Mozart wrote such a concerto, so I’ll presume that’s the one.

Edit:…and the piece ended before I finished this post, and the DJ confirmed it.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

If the Beatles ever did reunite in the late 70s and made a record, it might have sounded like this.

I’m testing to see if I can upload a music file.

If the song plays automatically when the page is loaded, I’ll take it down so as to not make anyone lose their sanity.

Edit:Well it did start playing automatically so I deleted it.

@Joe FYI, I can upload a music file. The player box was in the the post and started playing automatically, but the downloadable attachment option did not show in the post.

@Ahhh Girl Joe said he disabled audio uploads. Only images now.

See my edit. Joe thought the mods would still be able to upload media files so I wanted to test it out for him.

I’m a huge Legend of Zelda fan, so I loved his version of the original’s dungeon theme.

Listening to NOTHING (but the sound of the air conditioner & my own typing) right now ’cause my stupid music player ran out of power an hour ago. Using it to listen to the radio apparently uses up way more juice than just playing files on it…weird!

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

I’m still working my way alphabetically through all of the albums on my iPod. I’m near the end of the “E” albums, right now I’m listening to Neil Young’s “Everybody Knows This is Nowhere” album. If you wanna see what else I’ve gone through, here is the link to the latest batch from earlier this week (links to earlier entries by clicking on the “Magical Mystery Listening Tour” tag at the bottom): http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com…..ay_10.html

Listening to some concerto for violin & orchestra on the classical station…can’t tell you who the composer is ’cause the weather’s bad & the station isn’t coming in good enough for my phone to display the information…oh wait, it’s just ending…Felix Mendelssohn! Violin Concerto in E minor. (The third movement was kinda rockin’)

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

I’m now onto the Kinks’ 1972 album “Everybody’s in Showbiz.” I’ve always loved this one, some great tunes on it (Supersonic Rocket Ship, the sublime and gorgeous Celluloid Heroes, among others).

Love this album. Underrated, I’d put it in their top 5.
