It’s pledge drive time at the public radio station I work at, so today it’s donuts for breakfast, most likely pizza for lunch, and some sort of tuna sandwich for dinner. And it’ll be like this for a week and a half. And the day AFTER the pledge drive is the Unicoi County Apple Fest here in East TN, with all the incredibly unhealthy goodies (deep-fried Oreos, cheesecake on a stick, etc.) you expect to see at events like this. I’m going to have to amp up my walking and exercise routine big-time…

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8You have to be very careful with tablet, there is a very fine balance between making very good tablet and very bad. It might sound so simple to make but it can easily cause you to want to hurl your stomach contents up and scrap your throat and tongue to get rid of the taste. When rank it’s bowfin’.

Soor Plums are incredible.

I can imagine. It actually sounds very tricky, getting that texture right.

Mmmmm pizza. I’m on a no bread diet at the moment and the idea of pizza is making my mouth water!

I had a gorgeous home made pasta in a tomato sauce with peppers, mushrooms and lots of cheese melted on the top. It was simply scrummy!

Nice – we had something similar for dinner last night.

Me, I’m off to my usual boring brekkie of coffee and jam toast, but at least I might be more coherent again after that, not sleeping really well at the moment for some reason.  Anyway, nice to see so many folks logged in just now *wave*.

Hot cheddar balls, grilled chicken marinated in Greek spices, and German cheesecake. Yes, it is International Festival time in Lawton, OK.

Pasta with a home-made tomato, tuna, sweetcorn and cheese sauce for my tea.

This is yet another instance of where self-made is so much better than those sauces you get in shops that contain tons of things that are simply not necessary and may not be beneficial. The time made to cook is no different either.

Very true meanmistermustard although I have to confess my mum made my pasta. I’m a terrible cook!

Wave back to you trcanberra! Coffee jam and toast sounds lovely, I’m in the UK and just about to go to bed (with the White Album in headphones to lull me off to sleep!)

Nothing. I’m trying to work out what to have for breakfast cos we’re out of milk and I’m too lazy to go up the shop :(

Haha – looks like bread and water for you :)

I’m just grilling some Chinese chicken with soy and sweet chilli sauce, rice on the side, for our dinner (but my wife prepared it before she left for work – she works nights).

Oh please don’t talk about hash browns – you’ll make me hungry and desperate for something warm and comforting. :(

Not just yet, but I’m about to get some chopped carrot, cucumber and tomato with some (heavily) salted cashews and almonds, I think. I’m allowing myself a little naughty treat.

Yes, and to take it a step further, I put ketchup on my scrambled eggs. Living in the South, you’d be amazed how many Southerners are grossed out by that, but coming from a New York family, I can’t eat scrambled eggs any other way.

I grew up in Mississippi right on the state line outside of Memphis, and we put ketchup on scrambled eggs. My maternal grandfather took ketchup eating to extremes. He even put it on ice cream. As I like to say about french fries, “I’ll have a few fries to go along with my ketchup.”
