Yeah always ask for dressing ‘on the side’ if you order it in a restaurant or don’t empty the entire sachet onto your salad if ordered in a fast food place. Quite a few salads in McDonalds (I think) are served with fried chicken….

Then why would you buy a salad from a place like McDonalds, it doesn’t taste good, it costs more than a double cheeseburger, and it isn’t even healthy, that’s the worst of both worlds.

What puzzles me is why would a fast food place sell salad, it makes sense for a place like ASDA or Walmart but who’s idea was it to sell salad at a fast food place, if I want fast food I expect it to be loaded with fat and grease, if I really wanted a salad (which would likely never happen), I would go home and make it myself, I wouldn’t go to a fast food place to eat something that is meant to be a healthy assortment of vegetables, it makes as much sense as using black metal as elevator music.

It’s better to pick it up yourself because delivering costs extra so you’re paying a premium for that pizza, it’s like buying Microsoft Office instead of just using OpenOffice, if it’s worth it you then ok but I recommend going with the cheaper option.

People who go with their mates but want a healthy option or not a burger for one, those who want something to eat and nowhere else is open. It is a market such establishments would be mad to ignore it.

Offline I babysat this little boy many years ago. When I took him to McDonald’s or Burger King, he wanted salad. He wouldn’t eat burgers and fries. This was not forced upon him. He was free to choose. He ate salad at home too. He liked chicken nuggets, pizza, and such, but he LOVED salad. He wanted a little bit of every kind of dressing available on it.

Offline And, with dressings, it depends a lot on what you choose. For instance, I’ve bought salads from McDonalds quite a few times on recent travels. They have a very nice low-fat Balsamic Vinaigrette should you choose it. The same as with anything diet-wise, it’s about the options you choose.
You go for their Ranch dressing, that adds 145 calories and 15 grams of fat to their salad. You choose the Balsamic, it adds 20 calories and 1.5 grams of fat.
It’s not that healthy options aren’t offered, just that people don’t choose them.

McDonalds and the rest have moved to offer more healthy salads, dressings etc.

Offline I’ve been eating cookies. My die today has been atrocious but I am very tired, had a stonking headache and my bones are as stiff as a Teddy Boy ‘s hair and trousers so screw being healthy and give me the crisps and cookies.
