Any other Ween fans on the forum? I just got into the because I found a few CD’s down in my basement. Most of their music is just so stupid and hilarious. I mean come on, you know an album is a masterpiece when it has a song called ‘Poop Ship Destroyer’ on it.I haven’t listened to all of Ween’s albums yet, but I really like ‘The Pod’. Praise Boognish!

Haven’t heard of them before. I do recall a song that Donovan had called Intergalactic Laxative – so poop and (space)ships seem surprisingly popular topics for songs.

Well if you like silly 90’s basement rock, Ween is the band for you. They have a very sludgy, homemade sound. For starters, I would recommend ‘The Mollusk’ from 1997, or ‘Chocolate and Cheese’ from 1994. I will warn you though, they can certainly get pretty vulgar.

My dad gave me their “Pure Guava” CD for a Xmas gift in ’93 or thereabouts, which was a complete surprise since I barely knew of their existence, and he even less so; but he knew I was into weird music and I guess he saw their name somewhere. (And I remember he was amused by the song title “Hey Fat Boy (A*****e)”!) I only played it once or twice before selling it, thought it was kinda reminiscent of certain Zappa things, didn’t dislike it but just didn’t care that much.
I did enjoy their track on that South Park “Chef Aid” soundtrack though.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
