Yes, but it looked like the one you posted before. What am I missing?

The top one's a look to Paul's website, only about the contest. That's for the Linda McCartney Foods website, which has products and More meal ideas. I wouldn't post the same link twice.

Ok, I was recalling her page regarding the contest not his lead in page. I bought one of her books. I should try one of her recipes out this weekend.

I'm actually a vegetarion too.

It'll be much easier to change your diet if you continue eating fish and try out some soy/tofu products in the beginning.

Good luck to all you aspiring veggies out there!

Hi Paul! When did you start to phase out the fish?

I turned vegetarian about two years ago, from semi meater to lacto-vegetarian. My mother was against it, so I guess that's why I didn't “give up” meat earlier. She had some really weird ideas about vegetariasm…

I have quite a big collection of veg cook books, the one I like the most is “Kasvisruokia Aasiasta
Makumuistoja Intiasta ja Kaukoidästä” (Vegetarian food from Asia, tasteful memories from India and far-east) It's Finnish though…Internet is good too, but usually I just throw some veggies in the pan and hope it turns out to be something eatable. (I didn't exaggerate much). I'm curious of Linda's recipes, are they good and do they contain many dairy products? I'm trying to become a vegan gradually.

I think they do, but it's getting easier to find believable substitutes. Seashell eyes mentioned a cow friendly dairy in state, but she never mentioned where. a-hard-days-night-paul-1 Perhaps you could find one of those near you? So yeah, I'm still working on the dairy issue.

As I've mentioned before, I've considered switching to a less meat-centric diet, but it's such a huge change in life style that I usually give up just passing a steak house. (When does that stop smelling good? Bacon?)

So, when you gave up meat, was it all at once or did you phase it out slowly? Do you use meat substitutes or do you prefer your meals to be honestly vegetable? What are your favorite cookbooks/blogs?

Thanks. a-hard-days-night-ringo-9

well, best of luck to you I bet giving up bacon is hard anyway paul-mccartney   a-hard-days-night-ringo-9🙂  Ringo was a vegaterian 😀

Sometimes I want to eat meat, but I just can't imagine what it would taste like and how not only would I react, but my body as well.

I have a theory that most vegetarians are guided by queasiness about as much as a moral objection, although it may not start out that way. After a few years of not not eating meat it just becomes a bit weird to even think about doing it.

(Vegetarian for 22 years and counting.)

I think you could be right, Joe. There's no way I even want to prepare meat for myself. It squicks me out handling raw meat, and it always has.

Both my parents were vegetarians for a few years, until I was born. I'm a part-vegetarian to help me eat healthier, so I'mgiving up on meat with lots of fat or oil, like bacon or steak or something.

Who knew we had a vegetarian/veganism thread? I’m enjoying going through the old topics.

As this is on topic, I’m going to try and go fully vegan. Days when I have eaten nothing but fruits, veg and nuts/seeds I’ve felt much better. Less tired, better mood, I sleep better, better concentration… So I’m going to give it a try, and see how it goes. I think the only problem I might have is with baked goods. I don’t each them that often, but I don’t fancy using egg substitutes much.

We’ll see. I hope I can do this.

Let us know how you do with this new resolution, fabfouremily. I’m anxious to know if you feel better, or have more energy, or what. Speaking of the Fab Four, you may know this, but all of the Beatles embraced vegetarianism at some point… except John. I’m not sure why I find that interesting, but I do. My wife and I are I guess what you call “flexitarians”… we’re mostly vegetarian. But to go all way, and become vegan is quite the commitment! I’d like to know how it goes for you. :)

Thanks, yes I’ll let you know. I’ve been doing the 80/10/10 diet (which is very definitely vegan) on and off for a while, and as long as you make sure you are getting enough calories and nutrients, the benefits are quite unbelievable. I’ll keep you informed :)

Best of Luck too you!  That’s awesome!  As you know I’m a vegetarian (over 5 years now) and I was a vegan before that for about half a year.  I went into it too fast because I was still eating meat before that.  Since you are already a vegetarian I bet you will have a much easier time, especially if you are already practicing it.

I aspire to do it again, my only downfall is the CHEESE.  I love that stuff way too much.  It’s pretty much the only dairy I eat.  I drink soy or almond milk for cereal and cooking etc, and I use soy creamer in my coffee.  So cheese a couple of times a week is the only thing really, except little things here and there.  Once they invent a vegan cheese that doesn’t taste like shit I will go for it again.a-hard-days-night-george-10

My mom and auntie just went vegetarian!  I’m so proud, I didn’t even force anything on them, they just came to it on their own (like my husband did).  I lectured them about taking iron supplements today because my mom had a dizzy spell at work.  I became deficient at one point and I take a low dose every day.  Do you take anything?  I also have B12 supplements daily.

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"
