I didn't mind that too much. A little long, and a bit disjointed, but I'll turn it up a little. Marks for the guitar work...

Tangled Hair - Nicely enigmatic and vague...love the instrumental bits, especially the drums. Turn up two notches, then back down one-half because I don't like the singing.
ELO - My favourite thing about this has always been the rhythm, the relentless chug, like an automatic dishwasher or an assembly line. Other than that, the singing lacks character, it's a coupla choruses too long, and of course I've heard it 7100 times since I was 12 without ever playing it myself. (I can think of at leasf two different things called "Don't Bring Me Down" that I'd prefer to hear.) Leave it where it is...nah, make that half a notch up (sentimental!)

I like how 'messy' it is, that's for sure! The harmonies are good too. Great guitar work, so I'll settle on one notch up. I probably won't remember it in 10 years time, but a harmless fun little tune!

Turn that Van Halen tune up! Reminds me of 'Hats Off to (Roy) Harper' with the gloriously sloppy slide guitar...
Keep 'Hairspray' where it is.

Turn down an audience recording of a cover of Little Wing. Singer was powerful but not great. Guitar was faithful the version off of Axis: Bold As Love

Ahhh, Charlie Parker, and the song that possibly gave The Yardbirds their name, turn that up to 11.
This may well be my favourite cover version ever, it's certainly there or thereabouts. Released as a b-side just six months after the original, it turns the original on its head. This is the 12" version, the 7" was faded before the guitar solo at the end.
It made me appreciate the band who did the original more than I had.

Turn that Hairspray track down - sounds like some nondescript 80s tune rather than representing the early 60s. (Possibly a nod to the '88 original film?)
As for Janelle, turn her up significantly simply for being a queer woman unafraid to cover a classic (CLASSIC) rock ode to a woman - no need to change any lyric from "she" to "he" for her! That being said, I'm not partial to her rendition; all those melismas and vocal acrobatics make me long for the subtlety of Jimi's original. Still, much prefer hers to Sting's or Clapton's own covers. (And honestly, the way YOU sang it appeals to me more than either of those three, @Beatlebug )
All that being said, turn her up significantly anyways, because reasons.
EDIT: Damn, you guys are fast today! Always turn up Charlie Parker, and Aztec Camera's VH cover while you're at it!

Awwww thanks VB. Also, I thought I read somewhere that 'Little Wing' was written with Jimi's mother in mind, more of a Let It Be type of thing than a traditional love song?

I'll turn that up. I'd call it easy-listening, with some nice jangly guitar on the side. Apparently the lyrics have something to do with guava juice? That's an extra notch for the weirdness - 2 notches up please!!

Love this song. Nice percussion. Turn Joni up a half-dozen notches as usual!
Another Zep classic that's beyond criticism - wish I had something to say that folks with better critical analysis skills haven't already said. I like to imagine/suspect that quick inhalation at the beginning is Bobby "smoking his stuff" as per the lyric. That reverb on his voice during the minor-key bridge is so effective - like he's shouting into a void. (Zeppelin were great at conveying space and scale.) Turn that up 93 notches plz!
More Canadian stuff (sounds nothing like Joni)

PRECISELYYYY. Page was SUCH a wizard in the studio, not just on the guitar.
(Also I'm fairly sure it's a punishable offence in several civilised countries to turn Led Zeppelin down, anyway, as everyone knows Zepp is legally required to be played LOUD )

How about some wannabe Page wizardry? (Headphones required)
Play it loud. I spent waAaAaAaYyYyYyYyYy too long doing the pseudo-panning at the end so you better appreciate it.

That Zeppelin cover - verses really sound different without JPJones providing those (kinda McCartneyesque) bass lines. Keep on doing what you're doing, SG - I expect you'll be adding bass parts (and Muse/Floyd/Bowie covers) soon enough! (Turn it up)
Pavement track is pretty cool, dual guitars reminded me sometimes of Neil & Crazy Horse, Mudhoney, and Sonic Youth by turns. Turn it up a bit.

I know, I really missed them, but they're kinda hard and I thought, since I don't have a proper bass to play them on, they wouldn't have sounded bassy enough, so I decided not to bother (and it was hard to sync the verse-chorus transition without Bonzo's fabulous crashing fill there to cue me in -- does anyone know where I can get like a mail-order Bonzo or something?
). I aim to get a bass soon, and when I do, I'll be trying to put it all over everything.

WILL DO!
(I've done a couple Floyd covers already and some silly little demos of Muse songs, somewhere.)

Hard to find a 50s/60s tune I don't like, and that one is no exception - fantastic guitar work, and the reverb going up and down on the saxophone and guitar is really cool too. Great groove, and well recorded for 1954 too. Turn it up!

That middle vamp section, with the voice-over - I'd be more than happy with that section as it tells a story, if the music underneath was more interesting.
That said, it's not that bad overall. Those singers have the prefect voice for the song, however the melody is a little derivative.
