a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 In a somewhat similar vein, I recently realised that you can’t spell ‘tambourine’ without ‘urine’.ahdn_paul_01

Also, with an obligatory I-actually-learned-this-yesterday/the-day-before/what-have-you: The riff to (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction. It’s surprisingly ridiculously simple. a-hard-days-night-john-1

My copy of Abbey Road on vinyl is a 6th pressing from either (most likely) 1973 or 1974, not an original pressing from 1969. I’m not too fussed about it though, as I found the background to this release to be quite interesting – The Apple label (which I didn’t really notice until recently) says the album was made in France by Pathé Marconi, as well as “Mfd. in U.K.”:

IMG_20180630_110814.jpgImage Enlarger

This may have been because the EMI priniting plant in Hayes was briefly closed for refurbishment in 1973, as well as the oil crisis that happened that year affected the UK. One of these factors meant EMI struggled to press many records (including reissues of older albums like The Beatles catalogue ) at home and had to hand over the majority of pressing to their French branch, Pathé Marconi for a while. These records would then be imported back to the UK to be sold as usual. Although the Hayes printing plant was soon reopened, and the oil crisis finished in 1974, the production of British records by Pathé Marconi didn’t completely end until 1976.

I was doing some research and I came across this man, he was a captain in the British army and he died during WW1.

His name was:

Leone Sextus Denys Oswolf Fraudatifilius Tollemache-Tollemache de Orellana Plantagenet Tollemache-Tollemache

Tollemache was his father’s surname, which his father quadrupled.

He was the sixth born son so ‘Sextus’.

‘Fraudatifilius’ means ‘son of the defrauded one’.

‘de Orellana’ is where his mother came from in Spain.

I imagine Plantagenet is trying to pretend you have royal blood coming from the York side.

His brother was called:

Lyulph Ydwallo Odin Nestor Egbert Lyonel Toedmag Hugh Erchenwyne Saxon Esa Cromwell Orma Nevill Dysart Plantagenet Tollemache-Tollemache (a.k.a LYONEL THE SECOND)

His other brothers and sisters were Lyonesse, Lyulph, Lyona, Leo, Lyonella, Lyonetta, Dora and Mabel.

Funnily enough, Leone liked to be known as Leone Sextus Tollemache, I can’t understand why mccartney-shrug_01_gif

Learnt (most of) Led Zeppelin’s ‘Good Times Bad Times’ today.

Cannot get my head (let alone my hands) around the solo just yet, but I’ve got the rhythm parts down — and have gained a new appreciation for Page’s rhythm chops. Damn! a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Some knowledge acquired over the last week or so:

1. There’s a town in Ontario called Swastika.

2. Prairie oysters are an acquired taste

3. Not only was America’s album Hearts produced by George Martin, but Geoff Emerick was also the engineer.

Birds aren’t distantly related to dinosaurs, they are dinosaurs…

The fossil evidence and now our evidence reinforces the idea that rather than birds and dinosaurs being distant relatives, they are one in the same. The birds around us today are dinosaurs.

Beatles To A Tee’s sepia sequences are actually in color with a sepia tint. I was able to take this picture:
