Totally LOVE Vinyl. It truly is the way to hear the classics!! Especially the Fabs!!
I’ve been kicking myself that over 20 years ago I got rid of (yes for RENT reason’s) the entire Beatles British Catalog that I had collected. I first started buying them when I was in junior high, early 80’s, “Musicland” (..if you live in the states, you might remember that chain of stores!) had the “JEM Imports”! I also picked up around the same time, The White Album on Apple/white vinyl. I recently found out that it might have been a French import..none the less way collectable today!! Several hundred dollars on Ebay! I’m trying to rebuild that Parlophone collection today! A little bit of a financial stretch, but worth it to me! I DO have all the US Stereo and mono. I have the Parlophone stereo’s through Help and a few mono’s. I do want them all though!! Interesting to see how rare a mono Revolver on Parlophone is!! Anybody have ideas why? Is it more rare..more sought after of the mono versions? Anyway…who knew in the 70’s and 80’s how sought after our Beatles vinyl would be..much less in the 60’s!! It’ll be many years of searching out those great vinyl deals!!

…who needs…a Beatles box set that contains no new/unreleased music but just so happens to be in a fancy box?
I did! I only had 3 cds, all the vinyl disappeared, and I had no copy of all the singles that weren’t on an album (practically all). But I’m a rarity here I’m sure… @Ahhh Girl might understand, since she’s a new fan. It was a quick way for me to get the canon. Speaking of which, I think the singles should be included.

You caught the unedited copy! But yeah that was weird. And then when I typed ‘@Ah’ it came up with Ahhh Girl but some weird @address, yet it showed up as @Ahhh Girl (and now she will wonder why she’s being mentioned so often)

I’m not into vinyl, but since I’ve been mentioned, I’ll respond to the newbie theme. BTW, this record shop day thingy this year is on my birthday.
Yes, when you go from 0 to *what post number is this for me? oh, 3025 – hadn’t looked at the number since about 1,000 ago, geez Louise*, a box set is a good thing. I didn’t know about mono/stereo/US/UK last year. I saw a pretty black box of cd’s that said it had all the regular Beatles stuff so I figured it was a place to start. I didn’t want to piecemeal it all together. I had been piecing together Paul’s solo cd’s, using an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of what I had and what I still needed to get. For Christmas, one of the presents I asked for was the John Lennon Signature Box set. That is the way to go.
I’m collecting George and Ringo cd’s now. A box set for George and sets of what Paul and Ringo have released so far would have been a nice and tidy way to collect all of those.
So, to try to bring this back around on topic, a box set of vinyl done reasonably by all involved in the selling chain would be nice.

Back in the dark days of early 1981, EMI released a box set of John’s (EMI) albums. I managed to get hold of a copy, I think I still owe my Mum a fair few quid!. Even though I had a few of them it was a great way to get an instant collection.
There’s supposed to be a new release of the mono box on vinyl, would be the way to go for me.

I agree a vinyl box set would be nice, but I bet it would be out of my price range. The uk/mono box set was like 129 USD, the stereo 229, the vinyl would probably be more than that.

I went to my local record shop looking for a remastered copy of The White Album that they had. It wasn’t there, but they’d just gotten in an older copy of it, which I have a question about. It sadly has no inserts, and is not numbered or embossed. I did some research and according to that it should be from 1976-78. The records are in REALY good condition which doesn’t seem to match the sleeve, which is good but seems to have water damage. In this research I found that the serial number inside my bifold is SEBX-11841 which apparently belonged to the White vinyl edition of the album. It’s an orange Capitol label. Does anyone have any idea when the record could be from? Do you think the records àre in the wrong sleeve or did the release plain vinyl with that serial?

Hi guys.
I was a little disappointed with the 2012 reissue set, especially the White LP not being Top loading gatefold LP, like the original. But they did have some nice touches like the Records themselves being Yellow Parlophone or Apple labels.
This unfortunately made me decide to collect the Original UK LP’s. Not cheap!!! Especially the expensive Ebay and it’s high shipping fees to N.A.
Anyways, so far I’ve collected a nice UK Top Loading numbered White Album & Let It Be . This project will take me about a year to complete buying 1 or 2 LP’s a month!

@Bongo Good luck with your search! I have four of the remastered vinyls, and although they may not be exact replicas (like the MMT booklet not being stapled in) but they’re good quality and pretty good replicas.

TXS MK.
MMT not stapled in? Forgot about the CAPITAL thing, ’cause the UK MMT EP was also stapled in…..
Since I already have the UK EP, I will not be buying the Capital version, since it is not a original UK anyways.
***I am selling my complete unopened 2012 reissue set to help pay for the originals.

Yeah, MMT looks interesting. Ill have to put up my collection later
When you say “stapled in”, do you mean the booklet being attached to the gatefold cover? Because it was loose on the Capitol LP, but fixed to the UK EP. IIRC the reissue got it right.

Also they would prefer you to only use vinyl for Beatles music because voices aren’t as clear, therefore making it harder to tell it’s not actually Paul. It all fits together.
