@Mr. Kite said If anyone knows anything about that or this pressing, please shed some light on it!

This thread is about Brazilian mono releases.  Funny thing though – when I searched on the label # XEX-776 I found nothing (google “Brazil mono let it be” to find the linked thread and a bunch of others).  As far as determining rarity (if you care), see my above post about researching my Hey Jude /The Beatles Again LP and pm me if you want more info or help.  The stamp sounds like something an owner put on to catalog it.  Both Brazilian mono releases, Abbey Road and Let it Be are available for download.

I’ve lucked out in the vinyl department lately!

I found this record shop run by a little old Greek lady in the town next to where I’m currently staying. It had a bunch of little Beatles gems, although I couldn’t spend money on em all now. One I saw was a (possible sealed!) Beatles Story. I haven’t seen it since the first time I was there, but hopefully it’s still around.

The first time I was there I picked up a (most likely, haven’t checked for sure yet) first edition US Rubber Soul . I also found some great stuff that’ll help me complete my early Macca collection: Band On The Run and Wings At The Speed Of Sound !

Shortly after, I went to the mall and there was a store that had a bunch of weird stuff, comics, novelty items, but most importantly a lot of music stuff! There was a sign advertising that they had vinyls so I went in. They had a great Beatles selection, lots of US stuff, but their Beatles vinyls were all about $20-30, in great condition though… I looked for some Zeppelin and solo Beatles stuff too in the used section and then looked around more. They had the stereo vinyl box set (and albums available individually), the US CD box set, the Japanese albums CD set, I think they had the stereo CD box, but don’t think I saw the mono set. They had Beatles shirts, mugs, and other assorted cool items. In the movies section I saw AHDN , Help ! alone, and in a box set I didn’t know existed, MMT in the recent box set (with the EP, I believe), and YS. They also had all the new Zeppelin remastered CD/vinyl boxsets!

I didn’t get anything that day, but once I start making money here a lot of it will disappear in that store!

I went back a few days ago for fun, and checked the P section of the used vinyl area. As I probably posted somewhere upthread my old record store found me almost all The Police records released when they got a big collection, but I was still missing one. I opened to the P section and sitting there was Reggata De Blanc, the only one I had yet to find! For $7 I completed my Police collection!

I just left the record store again with RAM! It was in bad condition so she just gave it to me!!! My old record store, as nice as the guys were, would’ve charged me for this condition…

As soon as I get back to where I’m staying ill list all my McCartney/Wings records, with pictures if anyone wants em.

Doesn’t seem as organized, but there’s definitely better stuff!

I only mentioned what I got the first and last times I was there, so the other albums I found there are:
Ringo; Ringo’s best album, I already had a copy but this one has the booklet, and the cover’s in much better condition.

Pepper; a nice stereo version, didn’t have the original sleeve, haven’t done extra research yet, but think its original.

Dream Of The Blue Turtles; a great Sting album that I had already, but it was the only album hurt in the move, bent the cover, and she gave me a great copy for a dollar.
I wrote an essay about the Cold War once quoting the song Russians and got a hundred so I credit it to Sting.

As I said before, the only album left in my early Macca collection is Red Rose Speedway . I went back to that store I mentioned above, and they had it! Didn’t get it, but might go back today. That place is going to complete all my collections!

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

I’m ‘watching’ an Ideal for Living EP on ebay, though I’ve no idea why as I don’t have a spare £4500 to hand. It’s really quite ridiculous that they’re going for so much as the sound on it is shit. I suppose it’s just to be able to say that you own one of them.

Interesting article, thanks for posting it.

*)&%$ Something went sideways when I was testing pinning. Somehow I moved some of a Matt Busby – Mr. Kite conversation to that thread. I hope I got it back in the right place.

Good grief. How did I do that?

If it’s back here then all is good, I have a notification saying it went somewhere else “Rare Vinyls/Misprints,” but I guess that was just until you found where it was originally.

@Ahhh Girl, It was me. I moved posts to the vinyl thread somehow when they were meant to go to the Mis-print one instead but moved them over in the end, had a heart attack when they all but vanished. Did you move them back to vinyl as they never started there in the first place?

The first post of the conversation that I moved was this one. I guess I got it back in to its rightful place — in the rare vinyl thread.

It was so weird to see those posts in my pinning thread. I didn’t have that thread in any windows at the time.

I think AG’s mistake was different, what I saw in the notification must’ve been what you moved. And from my recollection of the conversations I’ve had with @Matt Busby here and on that thread, everything seems to be in the right place.

Go mods! apple01

Yeah those are the ones @Ahhh Girl, they were originally in the Revolver sub-forum. How did those end up with you when it was me moving them? I was bored during the England match so went wandering, moving anything i came across that needed doing. It did go a bit weird at one point when i was getting asked if i wanted to move posts when i had nothing to move, i just put it down to a glitch and said cancel.

Bizarre happenings.

@meanmistermustard, very bizarre indeed. As long as we keep our fingers and mice off the delete thread buttons, we’ll be ok. Posts can be moved back into place.

Wogblog has posted that French and German Amazon stores are accepting pre-orders for new vinyl editions of ‘1962 – 1966’, ‘1967 – 1970’, ‘Love’ and ‘1’. Scheduled for release in those two countries on the 21st November 2014 the US and UK releases are expected to be a few days later but no official announce has yet been made.

Just got a record player in the new apartment! Finally!! I’ve accumulated some good stuff I couldn’t listen to until now…

And I just discovered something interesting about an album I bought…

When I just went down to Florida I went to my old record shop and found Layla by Derek and the Dominoes, didn’t look at the records because I trust the store. I flew the album up with some others in my luggage and haven’t bothered it after I put it safely away. Just took it out to listen to and when I got to the second disc, I saw it had a different label! It was the right record just a different record label.

After a quick trip to Wiki I found that the first vinyl was on Atco records which was the original American release and the second was on Polydor which was the original UK release! Don’t know how they ended up in the same sleeve but I thin it’s pretty cool.

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

I thought you were going to say it was scratched!

Perhaps a record store had 2 copies, one UK, one US, and mixed them up by putting them in the wrong sleeves?

Anyhow, enjoy the album, it’s a good one!

That’d be too boring to post.

I went out so didn’t finish it yet, but what I already knew and just heard are great! Clapton’s amazing.

That’s a plausible explanation. Maybe one had a bad cover, or disc one of one was bad and two of the other… Who knows?
