I was looking for a topic in the forum about the Prefab four, but I only found one of their first movie. They had two movies: All you need is cash & Can’t buy me lunch. And they had two albums “The Rutles: Soundtrack” and “The Rutles: Archaelogy” So I would like to start a topic talking about Ron Nasty, Dirk McQuickly, Stig O’Hara and Barry Wom. You can talk about anything about them. Let me put some examples:

– Comparing songs of The Rutles with songs of The Beatles.

– Tracklists of how Rutles’ albums would look like

– If you met someone of the group (Neil Innes, Ricky Fataar, John Halsey, Eric Idle or Ollie Halsall)

– What you like about them.

My favourite Rutles song is probably Ouch!

I do like Goose Step Mama as well though but I do like a lot of the Rutles songs.

And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

Every morning on my way to school, I’d pass by an old airplane hangar, which used to be part of the old airport. It has “RUTLEDGE” written on one side of it, but when you’re at the right angle and the tree and fencing in front are blocking the latter part of the word, you get:

So I guess this is a sort of… Rutley Moment?a-hard-days-night-george-10

I was surprised to see that their music was pretty decent for a parody band.

Pretty decent is understating it tremendously.

What is happening? And tell me how you've been.

Many things out this over the top for me.

Leggy Mountbatten’s mom (who doubles as Chastity – who’s father started WW2),

Mick Jagger.

Michael Palin

I put I Must Be In Love on a power pop mix where it sits, without apology, along with Badfinger, Big Star and the Raspberries.

I took everything Beatles way too seriously, so I resisted The Rutles for a long time. I can’t remember what got me started, but I think it was Piggy In The Middle that finally opened the door. Along the Monty lines, did anyone else get into Fawlty Towers?

Fawlty Towers is brilliant. Still funnier and more watchable than a lot of the award-winning comedies nowadays.
