Shocked to see no Pink Floyd, among others.
Can I thank this post twice?! WeepyC, show me how!
I almost said something, but I thought people might tire of me spouting off about PF again… plus I was too lazy.

Okay, where are THE BAY CITY ROLLERS!?
(Well, someone had to say it )
Honestly though, I’d say Queen.
And while ABBA may not have been rock, I just love them, and they had a great number of hits in the 70s.

How about Stevie Wonder?
And one of my all time favorites The Band. I guess they weren’t as popular as Elton or Queen, but Im not clear on what defines “The King.”
Regardless, I voted Eagles, although I l’ve changed my mind to Elton John, one of my all time idols and favorite artists.

Ooooh! That reminds me of Sweet!
OK, so neither TBCR or Sweet could be considered “king”, but 70’s bands are fun to talk about. I’m liking this thread.

Love ‘Ballroom Blitz’. Someone here, a not very regular poster, mentioned a band and a song that I loved from the 70’s but i cannot remember any details at all so have no chance of finding it unless I go thru every single thread.
Not having been thru the thread and not being a big I would think the Bee Gees would be very high on the list, they were massive.

^But they weren’t a rock band. More disco-ey. (People tell me they all disco but that’s kinda fetching things rather far.)
ABBA weren’t rock nor were Bay City Rollers.
Yip, i’m blaming others for my lack of attention and silly mistake.
