Thanks @Starr Shine? for the link but reading thru that page it stresses you should only install that if you are an expert and i’m not.
However you did put me on the right path and so i’ve signed up. I’ll be making sure all my files are backed up before the upgrade tho.

Is it wise to sign up to Windows 10? Is anyone else?Windows 8 is said to have been a bit of a miss-step (one of the reasons why there is no windows 9) and i like Windows 7 but this is new and free and meant to be a significant improvement on 8 (and i believe after a set date its no longer free).
Will it be so full of bugs that it will be a nightmare to use?
Will i wake up one morning to find 10 on my laptop having lost Office, anti-virus software and all my files in the upgrade?
Will it just be crap?
So many questions.
That skipping 9 thing is so odd.
I’m not upgrading as each iteration seems to chew up more system resources and be less compatible with a lot of my old programs. I am still happily using 7 and see absolutely no reason to change.

Offline I guess this works as well as anywhere to put forward a brief re-introduction; I’m a 17 year old Canadian whose main time posting is now roughly 2 years in the past, at least. I came back for a week or two a few months back, but for reasons unrelated to the site (basically, the fact I’m in the course of finishing my senior year of high school), I’ve been absent. I hope to get back in the swing of the site consistently over the summer, to reconnect with those I knew in the past and meet those I’ve never spoken to. I just hope to add another intelligent voice to the greatest collection of smart voices, on the Beatles and on other things, on the web.

I gotta say mmm, that Macs are the way to go. A lot more expensive from the get go, but years of trouble free service, and if you have any concerns, their Free Genius Bar at their stores is the way to go. No viruses, no waiting for updates….
P.S. Below is one of the Mac representatives, can you spot him?

Someone explain how these four men died after this photo was taken. Two are still alive for goodness sake!!

As it’s from the last group photo session before the split, could it be a comment on the death of The Beatles as a group?
This picture of John and George could hardly be said to be the last photo of either of them.

I had windows 8 laptop its not good difficult to manage and some programs you have to pay they give you a free to install just a basic then they ask you to install the full version but you have to pay
