It's been a sloooow day on the Forum.
Maybe the forum wants a rest. Does it get a 15 minute break to go out and smoke a cigarette or surf the net or go and put its feet up every 8 hours?

The day isn't over in your part of the world so there's still 5- 6hrs till forum is usually active. But yes, it's very quite today. Any chance that yesterday's event went as amazing for @Ahhh Girl as to warrant some time off the forum for her to realize it wasn't a #9 Dream? Perhaps she was treated to an exclusive pic with Macca?

It really has been. I'm not listening to music right now, so I can't even use that as an excuse to post. Nor am I watching any good shows, nor have I had any interesting dreams lately, nor am I eating any... OH WAIT... be right back.

With this post, I will have the same post count as mithveaen. Once it is on the top ten list I wonder if she will be above or below me when we have the same post count.

Whew! That is a hard guy to love, @parlance. Kudos to you for being the kind of Forumpudlian who walks the walk of Peace and Love, and doesn't just give lip service, like some of the rest of us.

parlanceI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Since One Direction and Harry Styles came up, I need to mention this because it always blows my mind. I'm sorry if I mentioned it before I can't remember...
Does anyone else see the resemblance with this guy to a young Mick Jagger?!
Here are one million examples:
Not a fan of the band (not my style, no pun intended) but Harry is a handsome young man, I must say! It seems so weird being attracted to a guy that was born before the 1950's…
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

There is no defeating the owls - Simon's efforts are futile.
Yeah that kid upthread does bear a resemblance to Mick in some of those pics. My niece used to love One Direction, but I believe she has now switched allegiances. The word is she is now into something called 5 Seconds of Summer.
Every generation has their boy star or boy band. When I was a pre-teen, the girls went nuts over Bobby Sherman. Shows my age!
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

In 40 minutes and 13 seconds I turned this:
Into this:
Why? Because I can. And because I've wanted to build a guitar for a few years. (Edit: and this is good preparation for that.) The first time I took my guitar apart was when I was thinking about building like two years ago. Then though, I didn't really think about actually doing the woodworking/painting myself, I wanted to buy a neck, body, and the smaller parts online and then assemble it. That's not really building a guitar, and ends up being just as, if not more, expensive than a pre-made guitar.
Now I want to see if I can go from wood to guitar. But it'll be a while 'til I can get together money for tools and materials. Still seems like a fun project though!
Which do you Forumpudlians think would be a cooler build? A Strat style or a Les Paul style? Les Paul is harder as it generally needs an extra wood layer on top, but I have a Strat.
