…Oh my God

When I’m 64, it’ll have been 100 years since Sgt. Pepper was released.

When I’m 64, it will have been 100 years (to the year, not day or even month) since A Hard Day’s Night and Beatles For Sale came out. A little less fitting, though.ahdn_paul_01

But… I thought you were (are) fourteen?

I don’t know if people are still doing this ‘quote-your-own-first-post-in-this-thread’ thing, but here is mine. Prime example of the importance of the @on this forum. The post was never replied to, but I can’t blame MrMoonlight for that. My first post on the forum as a whole was in the Song Fragments That Grab You thread, I think.

EDIT: And see, I still didn’t @him!

If you're lonely (or not!), you can talk to me. .....Hey! Are you a new member on this fine forum and don't know where to go to introduce yourself?
Well, you can do it here! Dig it?

I can’t @ anyone from my PC at work. A lot of this Forum’s coolest features are rendered useless there. How do they expect me to goof off between clients?

EDIT: Instead of double posting, I’ll just tack this on instead. The recent 9 Random Facts About You thread inspired this. I’ll apologize in advance.

Random “9” Facts From Me

1. When I was 9, Richard Nixon was re-elected as US President. He would be impeached when I was 10.

2. When I was 9, the BBC banned the Wings song ‘Hi, Hi, Hi ‘. Beeb execs celebrated their decision over cocktails.

3. When I was 9, Eugene Cernan & Harrison Schmitt became the 11th & 12th men on the moon. It was starting to get crowded.

4. When I was 9, Life magazine ceased publication. The end of Life as we knew it.

5. When I was 9, Mariner 9 began mapping Mars. Too many damned people on the moon.

6. When I was 9, John & Yoko were served with deportation papers. They used them to twist up some fatties and got ‘Hi, Hi, Hi ‘.

7. When I was 9, NYC Mayor John Lindsey appealed for John Lennon not to be deported. He had great tix for the Madison Square Garden gig.

8. When I was 9, David Bowie released The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars. My spidey senses tingled.

9. When I was 9, the pilot episode of the TV show M*A*S*H aired. As I type this the rerun is airing in at least 463 US cities.

My next two posts inspired @WETSRoosa (Congrats on the roof!! a-hard-days-night-ringo-10ahdn_ringo_09) to post a picture of hemorrhoid cream, along with other pictures that no longer seem to be available… (See page 299 for context, and 300 for comment on the cream [the only way to know since the pictures are gone])

I am trying to be really good about putting words with the pictures I post so that some context is left if the picures go poof and also so I can search for them. Metadata is very helpful.

What on earth has this cover got to do with the book itself (source: bbc)?

I always preferred the thought of the greedy kids having died for being spoiled brats. But then i also felt Charlie was in need of a smack across the face – man how i wanted him to get sucked up into the bubble machine.blue-meanie I’m not a violent man but all of those kids were annoying.

ahdn_paul_06 Are you basing it off the Gene Wilder movie, The Johnny Depp Movie, The book or some combination of the three or other?

How does your grandad feel about being made into a guitar? Can’t you use quality wood instead?

Good luck regardless.

Hey, if Paul can make a bass guitar out of a living female, then there’s no limit to what @mr.moonlight can do.

If you have a lull where you don’t listen to a band you like (or thought you liked), how long do you carry on thinking of it as a ”lull” before deciding that, just maybe, you don’t like them much anymore? Thing is, except maybe once or twice, I haven’t listened to the Beatles yet this year. And I don’t feel I’m really missing out on anything. As someone who wouldn’t go more than a few hours without listening to them, this feels very strange. I still think the last few albums were absolutely fantastic, but I no longer feel any love for the earlier ”poppier” ones. Excluding the Beatles, I’ve never really gone for light Pop music anyway, so maybe now I just don’t like this Pop either, even if it’s the best in that genre? I don’t know.

Anyone else here ever gone through something like this?

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.
