An interesting article from the musictimes highlighting 21 albums that are known by two or more names – no prizes for guessing one of the albums in the list. You can also listen to a track from each album.apple01

Apparently I’m in Rishikesh now.  I must have slept through the entire plane ride.

This is drop down menu I use to see my new/recently updated topics. I use the same one on my phone. The one thing it doesn’t do is take you to the first unread post in the thread. I have to scroll up to find where I left off. However, that doesn’t bug me because I always scroll back through a few posts anyway to get the context/refresh my memory on what is going on in the thread.

How do you get to your unread topics?

Where do you see “new topics” on the bottom of the page? On a forum page? Can you get a picture of it for me?

When you’re on the forum homepage they’re listed on the bottom of the page.

That’s ok. I knew this moment would arise at some point. I had to face my fear and overcome it.

^  Just think Laughing Halibut and you will be fine.

There we go – my most inscrutable post of the week – I was thinking flying halibut but I don’t think there are any.

I use the below method (not on mobile devices) normally as it allows you to open multiple tabs at once, the drop down menu doesnt (one of the reasons why i dont use my ipod very often)

Got a great recipe for grilled squab with prune glaze? Post it here!

Need advice on what to do about the rash on your left…well you get the idea.

I know you’ve been waiting four years for that recipe Zig, so here it is!

Now about that rash…

Thanks for the recipe.
The first ingredient listed is 4 whole pigeons. Do think it was absolutely necessary to mention that, prior to cooking, they should be cleaned and gutted? Isn’t that implied?

You never know… With the common sense of some people today it might be necessary. They’d take whole pigeons as whole pigeons.

If it says says “whole” you’d think whole – no head, brain, eyes, legs, kidneys etc and its not whole, its most of.

Well, with something like that it’s a bit weird, but sometimes an unclear description of the amount of an ingredient can really make a difference. I mean, what does ”a bit of water” mean? Or ”a small portion of tomatoes”?

ahdn_paul_06 Sometimes a recipe doesn’t need to be super precise so you can be less specific with amounts

Though the whole pigeon thing should be more specific unless it is the whole thing like a giant roasted pig thing

Yes – I have seen instances where the chef has taken the cooking instructions just a tad too literally. Observe this classic Three Stooges bit (especially starting at 1:45 in, toward the end of Curly “shaving the ice”).
