Just to put it into context, the video is by a Saudi Arabian comedian, who has joined the protest about women not being allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia. There is not strictly a ban, but women are not issued with driving licenses. There is a big protest movement against this default ban going on at the moment. The video is Hisham Fegeeh’s contribution to the protest. For some strange reason, at last look, it’s approaching 8 million since it was posted on 26 October. Fantastic job, Hisham! I salute you!

Wow, that’s awesome and incredible! It’s ridiculous how women are still subordinate (is that the right word?) to men in some countries. We live in 2013, it should be completely different. Having said that, I think it’s great what this men does, and it’s a cool way to raise attention for issues like this. Thanks for posting this, Mja!

Sigh. Sociology really didn’t go too well. It consisted out of 80 questions which you had to answer with either right or wrong. It was very difficult and they kind of screw us. The way they constructed the questions was very misleading.  I hope that the one I have today will go better. I have to watch a short video with a situation and there will be a case with a problem with it and then I’ll have to observe the situation and form a conclusion out of that. I have to assimilate everything in a report. It’s pretty difficult, but we have practised it multiple times and I’m quite good at it. I’m actually looking forward to it, rather than being nervous.

Oh, boy. mja6758, I hope you didn’t think the peace sign was about your video. It was a comment I thought of in conjunction with that other thread conversation that happened last night a-hard-days-night-ringo-14.

@Linde, those tricky questions made me think about how tricky real life can be sometimes. glad you feel better about today’s test.

Don’t worry, AG. I commented on the video because I hadn’t when I posted it straight after seeing it. Your comment, well if I’m thinking of the same thread, I get where you’re coming from, and I did step into it with my moderator hat on.

Hope you enjoyed the video, and glad you did, Linde. Fantastic what you can do with three voices and body percussion!

Don’t be too down about the test. You never know, you may have done much better than you think. Good luck with today’s.

Happy Halloween! And much luck with your next exam, Linde!

This song gets played on the morning show I listen to. It’s so bad it’s good.

Ah, wonderful. All is well. And, I like typing your full username now because I have it memorized now. Silly things that brains remember when they want to.

As for Halloween, I’m actually wearing black slacks and an orange shirt. That’s far better than I usually do. Who knows, I might even do a costume next year. We have lots of people in the library with costumes on today.

Edit: I just had the thought that dressing like a Paulette who is trying to find out Paul and Nancy’s “safe” word wouldn’t go over well at work.a-hard-days-night-ringo-6paul-mccartney

Have to admit, I hate it. Feels like being called Mister, and – in my mid-40s – I still don’t feel like a Mister. Much prefer mja (with NO CAPITALS!). Anyway, that’s just me.

I don’t know if that was rhetorical, but if not, think they make stencils of the designs before they draw on the pumpkin. It’s amazing!

Naw, not rhetorical, I was just curious. I can’t draw a circle so this is totally amazing to me.

Two of Us has John whistling at the end.
Doesnt Paul whistle in Dance Tonight, some naff solo or other?

John’s whistled in several songs: “Jealous Guy ,” “I’m Your Angel” off Yoko’s portion of Double Fantasy , the Anthology 2 outtake of “Your Bird Can Sing” with Paul…

I just found another one. The end of “C’mon People” on Off The Ground has whistling.
