Here is an arpeggio in my band book in the key of D major
the D major scale is D, E, F#, G, A, B, C#, D
So, if i take the first note of that scale (D) that is our I, and the first note you see in the image above (in the measure the image is focused on).
The third (III) note of the scale is F#. The second note of the arpeggio.
The fifth (V) note of the scale is A. The third note of the arpeggio.
Then you have the octave (D or I) then go back down.

I’m still working on my patch collection, I haven’t found a good place to get them.
I do have Tom Petty and Muse pins tho lol, didn’t you see the Wildflowers and the Knights of Cydonia pins? And as for Beatles I do have the little purple Dark Horse Records pin, which is Beatleish… right?
My patches and pins are largely themed around Denim Jacket Vibes (apart from the Muse one), though, which is why I picked Tom Petty and George Harrison , because they both repped denim jackets which inspired me to get one. My guitar has more general musical inspiration homages…
And my bass has bass-inspirations (although I’m also still working on my collection here):
The blue sticker has no particular significance, it’s just a sticker that came with my headphones but I thought it looked cool and filled a space lmao

I see, so an arpeggio is only the main notes of a chord, not any and all notes one could cluster into a chord? Makes sense. The Band On The Run arpeggio I cited in Baker’s Dozen I guess qualifies, but doesn’t start with C even though it’s based on C, moving from the open E bass string up:
E—G—A—C—E—G … [then 2 chords hit here, before repeating the arpeggio]
That A doesn’t fit if it’s in C, according to your template.
Now today I find, you have changed your mind

I just played that little line on flute and it’s not an arpeggio. i don’t sound like one.
If you wanted an A in a C major arpeggio you would have to play it in a different mode: Locrian (7-7)
If you start on the 3rd scale degree and go up to the octave that mode is Phrygian.
So, in the key of D (I am sticking with that for my own convenience) a phrygian arpeggio would be F#, A, C#, F#, C#, A, F#
What keeps that arpeggio still in the key of D is that the notes are affected by D’s key signature and no other key signature. 2 sharps F# and C#. I just started on the III instead of the I

I did my marching band audition today. And my mother is pissed at me because i take band too seriously and i am annoying about it. she said i cared too much. *her words not mine*
anyways, i did the audition. It ended at 5pm and it is now 7ish. I have been in and out of phases of crying ever since. im just scared of how i did. in fact i had tears streaming down my face during the actual audition.
I have been texting and calling mr hart like a crazy person for emotional support since my mother obviously cant offer that and idk where my bio-dad is.
my mom said “its so annoying to listen to someone cry about how bad they did even when they know they did good. abigail is just fishing for complements”
like wtf.
-anyways… neely, out!

Sorry you have to deal with that Neely
Does your mother even remember being a teenager? It can’t have been that long ago. Caring too much is literally what teenagers do

That’s like a textbook example of a classic “backhanded compliment”. I don’t know you well, but you seem to have an indomitable spirit & music is your life, and nobody can take that away from you!

@HambletonHall61, welcome to the Fab Forum. Looking at your username, I’m wondering if you were THERE – like THERE in pre- and Beatlemania times. Did you see them at Hambleton Hall in ’61?

Maybe another couple of the lead guitar GOATs from the period — Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Keith Richard, Jimmy Page?
