Offline I think Les Pauls are very pretty guitars, but they’re just not suited to the style I want to play.
Actually, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to sell both my Les Paul copy and my (brandless) bass guitar and buy (drum roll please) a Hofner violin bass! I’m going to university in the Autumn and I figure that there will be loads of guitarists in the scene and not many bassists. Plus bass is just so fun to play, maybe more fun than lead guitar, particularly playing something like Drive My Car or Town Called Malice. It would also announce me to any other Beatles fans.

You mean a Jazz (Precision is the other bass) of course. That’s a pretty colour!
Also, Town Called Malice is played on a Precision bass (Bruce went off his Rickenbacker for some reason).
I am still loving my Fallout, and I have now added the Digitech Obscura delay pedal to the Carcosa fuzz and I will have to get the Polara reverb to make the set! Hopefully in a week or two I will have a proper desk and chair and I can get on with getting a music puter set up, and get more stuff like a mixing desk etc. There’s a terrific American company called Pyle that do amazing knockoffs of Shure microphones $20-40 down my way, so I’ve picked up a PDMIC78 which is their sm57 and it sounds exactly like one, down to the -20db threshold. So I’m going to get a 2nd one and maybe shell out on a proper Shure 58 beta for actual singing (you can do it with an sm57 but it needs a windshield).

Offline I know which is which @ewe2. I was under the impression that there was such a thing as a hybrid between the two — but now you and the internet are making me question my sanity because I can’t find any examples.

Offline I’ve been playing the drums for a few years and I started the euphonium at school last year. I’m pretty good at both- first chair euphonium and I’m working on SFF on the drums right now.
Oh, and week or two ago, I bought myself a Fender Strat (my first guitar).
