So that's 4 bad French teachers against 1 good one.
Even when I finish my French degree I still can't teach it*, I'd have to do a Master's in Education and then I could teach but I think if I were to do a master's it would be in translation combining the French and German together (can only do 2 so aufwiedersehen Irish 🙁 )
*Same as my German, if I wanted to teach German, I'd have to do a master's in German and then a master's in education because I don't have any literature credits in my Business-German degree 🙁
I think I'll just keep the language-teaching to an on-the-side job, I really don't want to have to do 2 masters just to earn €30,000 a year and get treated like sh*t by pupils and parents.

Oh, Something funny I just remembered...
There is a Dutch word in one of Paul's songs. Now, that doesn't seem too remarkable, except it's a very specific word, in one of the better known Wings songs. He mispronounced it, which cracks me up every time. Who knows what it is?

Oh, yeah sure. It's in 'Rock Show':
There's a rock show at the Concertgebouw
Long hair at the Madison Square
Rock and roll at the Hollywood Bowl
The Concertgebouw (concert building) is a music venue in Amsterdam. Paul played there in 1972.

What is the proper pronunciation? Maybe there is a YouTube video with it being said correctly???

Con-CERT-ge-bouw
con as in con
cert, as in certificate, only the e sounds like the e in 'wet'
ge as in guh, a short sound with a harsh g which most non-Dutch manage by pretending to have something stuck in their throats
bouw sounds like bow (as in, to bow down)
The emphasis is on 'cert'.
Or, you can click here... (hint: one of these voices is mine)
At the end of the song, Paul changes how he pronounces it, making it sound more like the correct pronunciation. It leads me to think he probably knew how to pronounce it, but adapted it to rhyme better with the other lyrics.

Considering almost everybody here is from the US and the few that aren't are from the UK, it's safe to assume everybody here speaks English and nothing else. The United States Of America
Canada
England
Scotland
Wales
Northern Ireland
Ireland
Australia
New Zealand
Antarctica
Spanish:
Mexico
Central America
South America (except for Brazil)
Caribbean Islands (AKA Bermuda Triangle, except for Haiti)
Spain

That's all.
Maybe you should try posting more.

I love how Luxembourg was included for German but Austria, Liechtenstein, Namibia and Switzerland weren't (2 of those countries are 100% German speaking rather than Luxembourg which is all divided).
Also for France and Haiti, include Switzerland, Belgium, Monaco, Luxembourg, Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, and about 15 other African and Caribbean countries.
Gotta love colonialism, eh?
Also, don't forget Irish for Ireland
Edit: Ah I just noticed African for Africa. Explains why they weren't included for Deutsch and Francais.

Nopey dope (I should have this in a Word document so I can copy and paste it when needed as I've explained it about 50 times before).
'Gaelic' is the name of the language group (which in itself is a sub group of the 'Celtic Languages' family)- the members are 'Irish', 'Scottish Gaelic' and 'Manx' (spoken on the Isle of Mann). If you told an Irish person they spoke 'Gaelic' they would say 'no I speak Irish'.
On a note for pronunciation the Gaelic group is pronounced 'gay lick' (charming), while Scottish Gaelic is 'gah lick'.

When I went to Ireland they told us it the other way around. Maybe that's a Dublin thing or something.

Well who ever told you that was wrong I tells ya wrong, some Jackeen that didn't know anything. No native Irish person would call it Gaelic sure even to look at the school examination papers the language is given as 'Irish'. It's the language group that is 'Gaelic'.

I've posted about this before. I speak some local variation on English.
I can speak no other language as all my Secondary School French teachers were ignorant arseholes who if you couldn't speak French within 5 minutes of the first class you were written off as a piece of worthless shit. My Primary School didn't teach French so I was screwed before I even walked in. No help, no understanding and assistance, simply stuck in the bottom class with all the others and treated as wastes of space for three years. One of them would make a half-hearted effort to get you to learn but it consisted of reading a book or repeating a part of a cassette which if you didn't get it immediately then so be it, no loss to them.
I happily attended my French Oral exam in 4th Year, sat down, refused to answer my name when asked, and then proceeded to walk out.
