Thank you for all my birthday messages. I had a brilliant day. I went to town and bought the newly published version of Cellarful Of Noise with an introduction by Craig Brown. I also bought a pair of pink pyjamas. I went to a cafe with my Grandma and had vanilla cheesecake with chocolate shavings and Maltesers on top. It was very tasty. I also had an orange juice to drink. Afterwards, we went shopping and bought some new clothes.
I had Pizza Express doughballs, margarita, pepperoni and salad for my birthday dinner at home. Afterwards, I had a Galaxy chocolate birthday cake and a bit of salted caramel chocolate tart from Pizza Express. It was delicious! I got the Get Back book from my family and The Illustrated Lyrics book from a friend. My Mum and my brother made a Beatles birthday card.

Tar Heel State refers to the early history of the state when our big export was tar from the numerous pine trees that grow here. North Carolinians were called Tar Heels because, well, it just kind of stuck.

I was going for dreamy more than melancholy, but a little poetic melancholy is never a bad thing to have in a song, imo. It’s one of my favorite musical moods.
