The thing is… I have to learn three songs in one month, with very little experience of actually playing the piano a-hard-days-night-ringo-12 ( ok, I can read the notes) I know this is ridiculous but I don’t think I can get off the hook a-hard-days-night-george-5 So, any suggestions…? They can be Beatles but they can be anything ( as long as they are easy…)

I hope I posted this in the right place…

What about the Peanuts theme?

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Wow, thanks! I never quite realized that Eleanor Rigby is so simple; I suppose the orchestral arrangement makes it sounds complicated( and awesome)

Oooo! I have some old paino books from the 70s (my dads) that have SUPER simple Beatles arangments of Eleanor Rigby , yesterday, Michelle , and a few others that I can’t think of right now, but if you want I could scan them in and post them here.

Looks like you got some great suggestions, minime. Let us know how it turns out.

Thank you very much, Mc.Carrison! I can see the notes just fine, and it seems they are aimed at people who are even worse than I am- which is only a good thing!  I think they won’t allow me to play Beatles only, unfortunately( I really participated this thing without knowing what I was supposed to do) so I tried putting down the notes for “Oh my Love” (it ain’t Beatles a-hard-days-night-john-6) but I’m having a bit trouble with the chords ( because I don’t know the chordsa-hard-days-night-george-4) although the melody is rather simple.  Ohh, and Carrison, if you have some other pop music, that would be a huge help, just whatever, but I’m already troubling you too much, sorry a-hard-days-night-ringo-2

Yeah, I’ll let you know what the outcome is a-hard-days-night-paul-4I hope they won’t laugh me out

No your not troubling me at all! And I added some more music which isn’t Beatles. Also, the book im getting most of these out of has a TON of easy pop songs, so I put up a picture of the list of all the songs it has. Tell me if you want any. Some of them might be too hard/easy for what you need them for, but Ill post them anyway if you want.

Thanks everyone for your help, I suppose I could tell a bit of this “test” of mine….

One word-it was horriblea-hard-days-night-ringo-13Like a scene from a nightmare. Platform stage with with bright lights and the “judges” sitting in front of me, rest of the hall was dark. And the piano I was supposed to play was so “stiff”, the keys were hard to press, nothing like I was used to, and then some musicians tried to back me up, but they soon gave up. Because I sucked. I tried to play Eleanor Rigby but I just froze because it went so badly, then I tried Michelle , it was slightly better but horrendous all the same. “Have you had any piano lessons” one of the judges asked with an incredulous face.

Needless to say- I haven’t. And I’m quite certain that person didn’t mean it as “ohh, you are so talented considering your background”a-hard-days-night-john-7. I think I have a clue now how the Idols candidates must feel- especially those that fail.

Well, the good news is, you can only get better! Forget all about the horrors of it, and keep practicing. You’ll show them what you can do one day!heart

On the wikipedia page you see the notes of the let it be piano theme (what paul plays in the intro and during the verses), I learned to play it with this picture on wikipedia in less than one week and it sounds awesome. I learned at first the right hand, then the left hand and then together
