I’ve always contended that Why Don’t You Get a Job? by The Offspring sounds very similar to “Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da”.

That is quite interesting, because the two songs have different melodies, keys (both are in major keys though), chord progressions, tempi and rhythms. To me they also evoke totally different feelings (Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is simply happy, Why Don’t You Get a Job more melancholic). Still they do sound similar.

I thought of a new one.  These songs are not, by any stretch of the imagination, the same song, but they do sound just slightly similar.

Electioneering – Radiohead (1997)

No One Knows – Queens Of The Stone Age (2002)

I'm Necko.  I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

Fame by David Bowie and Love Me by The 1975. I remember hearing it for the first time as I believe it was released pretty soon after Bowie died and being a bit disgusted. Don’t like that band at all.

Klaatu’s “Dear Christine” sounds an awful lot like The Flying Machine’s “Smile A Little Smile”

The Beatles Oh Darling and The Eagles Please Come Home For Christmas sound very similar to me.

Start at 1:52 in this video. What Beatles song does it sound like? I know what I think, but if no one else hears it, I will know that I am just off my rocker.

It doesn’t go on for the rest of the song. Just that little bit there.

Does anybody think Hold Me Tight (the solo Paul one; starting at 0:57ish) sounds a little like the original Thomas the Tank Engine theme song, or is it just me? a-hard-days-night-ringo-12

To piggyback on WAC and Pepdog, 0:42 in the Thomas The Tank Engine Theme sounds like the bridge at 2:52 in Ringo Starr ‘s(w/Paul McCartney ) “Walk With You”.

The break down of Can’t You Hear Me Knocking- The Rolling Stones includes specific guitar riffs and ambiance that make the song resemble  Singing Winds Crying Beasts- Santana

I’ve always thought that the intros for these two songs sound vaguely similar.

I Can See For Miles – The Who (1967)

Blister On The Moon – Taste (1969)

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8If anything, Blister On The Moon’s intro reminds me a little of the intro to Astronomy Domine….

I always thought that the chorus from Mobscene by Marilyn Manson sounds like the chorus from Be Aggressive by Faith No More.
