Always loved His Name Is Alive’s Wishing Ring (aka I Wish I Had a Wishing Ring) and today I discover that the version I know and love is just the first few minutes of a 17-minute take that turns into a mental riff-based instrumental…

Fookin’ ‘ell!!!!

One of the most marvelous pieces on ATMP , and that is really saying something, since ATMP is one of the greatest musical masterpieces in existence.

In my delvings into synthpop, this song has really grown on me recently…

I might check out the movie of the same name that it’s from, looks pretty interesting. (The thing about me is my favourite decade for music and fashion is the 60s, but my favourite decade for movies is the 80s! a-hard-days-night-paul-5)

The 80s was an awesome decade for movies.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’m on a kick of MMT. Judging by all the (semi)recent posts about it in the listening thread, it may be contagious 😉

^Good ones. ‘Oh My Love’ is a particular favourite of mine.

I’ve been listening to these two on repeat:

The Wedding’ and ‘The Wedding Song’

and

from Black Tie White Noise – David Bowie (1993)

I’ve had ‘Thank You’ by Led Zeppelin in my head for the past two days. It’s such a beautiful, spring-y song, if it doesn’t make you happy then I’m not sure what will.

Isn’t it a pity Live in Japan 1992

While the two versions on All Things Must Pass  are superb, different from one another, the emotional pitch of the Japanese tour
rendition surpasses the studio tracks.
