People stealing your things. I had my lovely pencil case (that my sister got for me) stolen earlier this week. Now that’s bad enough alone, but I realised yesterday – when looking for my USB stick – that it was in there. Meaning that I’ve now got to spend valuable time redoing a powerpoint presentation I’d prepared. I really haven’t got time to do it again, and I’m getting frustrated the more I think about it. Why do people have to steal off others? :(

Ugh, I feel for you. People in my department at school are known for stealing, and I’ve had to replace some items that got stolen within the few seconds my back was turned (luckily nothing too expensive).

Good luck with redoing your presentation. :-( I’d also recommend emailing it to yourself to be safe.

Thanks apple01 I know to save it to more than one place in future. Luckily, I had house keys and iPod in my pocket, otherwise they’d be gone too. I usually keep them in there as well, so I was lucky in some respect. I’m about three hours and 1/3 of the way through my essay. That leaves another six hours to do over tomorrow and wednesday :(

Pointless sequels of classics, anyone?

‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ Sequel in the Works

I’d like to say it’s coming from The Onion, but no.

Is this a sequel, the plot sounds exactly the same:

Karolyn Grimes, who played George Bailey’s daughter “Zuzu” in the original,  will return for the “Wonderful Life” sequel as an angel who shows Bailey’s unlikeable grandson (also named George Bailey) how much better off the world would have been had he never been born.

Sadly we live in an age where its far easier to film a remake or sequel than a new original idea. Personally i found the original so incredibly boring that slept took over whilst watching it.

I’ve always been interested in the proposed sequel to Titanic. Jack is dead but even more importantly the boat has sank, all that is left is Rose’s story after being rescued and that wouldn’t be about the Titanic.

Why do they (county or state) resurface perfectly good roads and neglect so many roads that need some real help? Wasted tax dollars.

To keep down the number of roads that need repair and desperately need help. If they fixed the ones that needed repair and maintained the ones that were already in perfect condition that would cost more money.a-hard-days-night-paul-5

And they already covered that (rich boyfriend commits suicide after the Crash of ’27, right?) at the tail end of that movie. I say go Mystery Science Theater 3000 with the sequel. Maybe some mad scientist (Gary Oldman, anyone?) builds a “new” Titanic complete with rockets and bombs and prepares to launch it to space… only this Titanic hits a bird and it explodes in the air. I’d watch that movie. a-hard-days-night-george-10

Well, when you put it that way…

Perhaps you were you a county commissioner or a department of transportation head honcho in a former life? You have the mindset down pat.

Also if they fixed the ones in need of repair and brought them to a high level of standard then that would only add to the ones that were already at a high level of standard that would need to be maintained on a regular level thereby increasing the cost that ultimately is paid by the taxpayer. Really you should be thanking them for their forward thinking. I’d advise you write them a letter thanking them for their service to the community by undertaking such an approach as well as begin a campaign for them to receive a pay rise.

Can I include a bill for a new set of tires and a front end alignment with the letter? :-)

It would be far quicker to just send yourself or your hubby a letter rejecting the bill on their behalf. Add in lots of long words and pompous, incomprehensible sentences, shift the blame on to others, and how the conditions of roads in the local community are a pressing concern and can be seen thru the levels of finance already set aside for the improvement of the roads. Finally end it with some patronising closing sentence to give it that official council flavour.

I thought the movie ended with Jack dead on a sheet of ice and some light shining on Rose just as she was about to die. There was more!? It lasted long enough plus i fast forwarded the parts when old Rose spoke.

Oh dearie me! There has already been a Titanic II. Tho to be fair boat departs, boat sinks, people die, sounds a remarkably familiar plot.  Would rather see your idea with the boat launched into space, wetroosa.

Or doing pointless remakes: Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood! I don’t care if its for the next generation as some say. We have blu ray and dvds so the next generation can watch the classics. Remakes are almost never as good as the original. a-hard-days-night-john-1

Its inevitable that one day some dope will think its a great idea to remake A Hard Days Night, we nearly got that 3D Yellow Submarine movie.a-hard-days-night-paul-3 It’s bad enough that the old b&w films are colourised, i presume to make them more modern and being in glorious colour automatically makes it better.blue-meanie

Adam Carrolla once joked that if you’re going to do a remake, remake a bad movie and make it a better one. I mean, Gigli is available for anyone insane enough to try it…
