Pet peeve at the moment: That bloody Despacito song which has been No.1 on the UK charts for like 200 years now. I don’t even think it deserves the title ‘song of the summer’. Apologies if anyone does like this song, but I personally find it plain annoying.
God I hate that song, although there are plenty of other songs I hear on the radio at work that I equally despise. The new Calvin Harris song ‘Feels’ is pretty annoying.

Offline I can hear the acoustic guitar in Love You To , George’s rhythm guitar in Nowhere Man , the rhythm guitar in Tomorrow Never Knows , John and George’s guitars in Got To Get You Into My Life , Paul’s acoustic guitar in Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da , George’s rhythm guitar in Little Child , and so many other barely audible guitar parts but i don’t hear a guitar in Imagine . maybe @Ron Nasty can help me here but i don’t hear any guitar in this song. Also, Wikipedia doesn’t mention any guitar part.

Offline I think of guitar and bass as 2 different instruments and don’t count bass guitar as a guitar but thanks for pointing that out, i thought i was missing out on some barely audible guitar part or something.

Bass guitar is a type of guitar, so it is objectively a guitar. The song doesn’t have an acoustic or electric guitar.
I think it’s a good song by the way. It’s one of those songs that I’m sure lots of people wish they had written.

Offline I guess in a sense it is, especially ones like the Fender Bass VI but it’s confusing because bass is a designated role whereas most bands don’t have designated electric, acoustic, and classical guitarists.

Offline I wish i wrote and recorded We Will Rock You, it’s the easiest song of all time and the 2nd most popular song of all time, only behind Hey Jude .

Offline The Beatles are the most popular musical act of all time and Hey Jude is their most popular and successful song, selling 4 million copies in the US alone.
As for We Will Rock You, everybody knows it, everybody’s heard it, it’s that popular. In fact, if you know someone who is in between the ages of 3 and 65 who doesn’t know what We Will Rock You is, i think i’d buy a guitar that Jimi Hendrix used and give it to you free of charge, that’s how popular the song is.

Offline I Want To Hold Your Hand was The Beatles biggest selling single (14 million worldwide), followed by Hey Jude (8 million). Queen’s biggest selling was Another One Bites the Dust (7 million), followed by Bohemian Rhapsody (6.7 million), We Will Rock You doesn’t make the list. The top selling single of all time remains Bing Crosby’s version of White Christmas (50 million), followed by Elton John’s Candle in the Wind ’97 (33 million). In all, there are 19 singles that have sold more than The Beatles best-selling single.
There are many ways to measure these things however. If you look at lists that people have voted, be it a public vote or a jury vote, I have never seen one topped by Hey Jude , though it regularly places reasonably high, while We Will Rock You rarely ranks, and then quite low.
And if you were to take it by the amount of covers a song gets, the Guinness Book of World Records recognises Yesterday as the most successful song of all-time with over 2,000 cover versions.
