Offline Surprise pet peeve: If anyone called me ‘baby girl’ or ‘babe’, I would have to seriously reconsider the relationship.
First off Babe is a pig- thanks for that compliment!
Baby Girl just sounds like something a creepy guy would call you (see above)
I’ve always loved this lyric by George because it genuinely confuses me:
“Never seen such a beautiful girl
Got me shaking inside
Calling on me from deep within her eyes
Not the kind you go handing around
Want to keep her right there“
Now we all know George was very promiscuous throughout his entire life. So does that mean that the girl who was singing about (Olivia) was such a “beautiful girl” that he wouldn’t swap her with any other lad’s girlfriend/wife. If I was Olivia I’d be thinking “Jeez George you like me so much that we’re not going swinging- cheers”.
Or does it mean something more-innocent that my dirty mind can’t see?

Offline Beautiful Girl was demoed for All Things Must Pass before George knew Olivia so it certainly wasnt written about her, no idea about it being about her tho the time scale would fit.
