Are there any fans of Miley Cyrus here? I used to think she was a disreputable slag, but her last album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, is really good. I’ve listened to it quite a bit. It was a collaboration with the Flaming Lips. Also her bizarreness is sort of endearing. And she’s obsessed with Elvis Presley, which makes her okay in my book.
It seems wrong that a 45 year old man should be a fan of Miley Cyrus, but there you have it.

I personally amn’t (although I haven’t listened to any of her stuff properly and I was never into Hannah Montana) but your first line is genius “I used to think she was a disreputable slag”- I have a strong urge to write that in an essay or something.
I’m sure you’ll find a Miley-fan somewhere on the forum.

Eh. I like some songs but I’m not a fan. I do think her new look worked for her so props to that. Her voice isn’t that great imo (In my opinion).

Offline I’m not a fan of her previous work, and I never even saw Hannah Montana. I was alerted that she might be legit when I saw that she sang a couple of songs on the Flaming Lips Sgt. Pepper remake, which was a really bizarre album. I liked it.
I just hope she keeps going with her music in a more experimental direction.

Offline I still think she is a (boring) disreputable slag. The girls liked the TV show years ago. Her music is okay.

Sounds interesting. Reminiscent of Neil Young’s Will To Love.
She just reminds me of a tired Madonna wannabe with all her public posturings. They would both do better to focus on their music and not their cheap public image which just induces a major ‘Yawn’ every time I see them do it.
