Hello. This is my first forum I’ve joined about the Beatles. I am 46 (3 days older than Sean Lennon) and was born and raised on Beatles music and lore, along with Dylan and the Stones. I am from the New England area and have traveled frequently (excessively?) to the Dakota and Strawberry Fields in NYC. The music is ingrained into each of my cells and constantly regenerates. The Get Back documentary has ignited a new spark in my Beatles obsession and I am so happy to learn so much more from all of you. My young adult kids are now reading my books on John Lennon and watching the documentary with me and allowing me to pause on certain sections to then espouse for minutes on end about how this or that relates back to this or that or forward to this or that. Poor kids, they are kind to put up with me. Thanks for having me here. I can’t wait to read and catch up. Cheers!

I believe you are correct. I worry how crazy I sound to them, but they really do appreciate the music and now want to learn more. I truly believe that if every person had the chance to fully listen to all of Beatles music there would be no chance to have hate in their heart.

Hello Beatle People,
I’ve lurked on the wiki portion of this site for awhile now and have finally decided to create an account. I have liked the Beatles on a surface level ever since my mother introduced me when I was young. Recently these past couple of years I have dug deeper into their discography, and have been enamored with their music and the history of the band. My favorite songs and albums practically change with the time of day, so my opinions of Beatles-related things do not always line up with each other. However, my favorite Beatle will and always be Ringo. He is history’s finest drummer, and he always knows how to perfectly integrate drums into a song. I am a drummer, and Ringo’s drumming has very much influenced my style.
Fun Fact About Me: My most listened song on Spotify is Temporary Secretary . (That’s gotta say something about me)
Thanks for reading(and tolerating all my Ringo praise), and I look forward to posting here more.

Welcome to the forum! We are happy to receive another “Temporary Secretary ” lover. That song is one of Paul’s best and one of my favorites too!
Another Ringo lover is cool too.

Hello Beatle People,
Hello rwag, welcome to the forum!
No such thing as too much Ringo praise in my opinion! (I’m a lifelong air-drummer myself.) I think the Hamburg recordings should be (released and) retitled “Live At The Starr Club, December 1962”, because he absolutely superpowers those performances.

Hi all,
I’ve liked the Beatles forever, but never really got *into* them till recently. Watching Get Back flipped a bit in my brain and I’ve been hoovering up anything I can find about them since then.
I’ve also reserved a little corner of my obsession for Paul McCartney ‘s post-beatle career (I haven’t gotten around to the others yet, but there’s so much Paul!). I had totally written him off as “slightly wet” (I don’t know if that’s a phrase that will translate properly outside Ireland — it’s kind of like “soppy”). I think watching the moment where he pulls Get Back out of thin air changed my view of him forever.
I remember as a kid listening through a shared wall to my brother playing Beatles songs. I loved most of them, but I distinctly remember not getting Helter Skelter . Well now it’s in my top ten, and I’ve spent hours listening to it on a loop.
I’d appreciate any recommendations for documentaries or books. Preferably upbeat stuff, I’m more interested in how much they loved each other than their conflicts.

ps I agree with you @ringowithagun, both about Ringo’s drumming and Temporary Secretary !

Hummm, @meaigs, will you become a Paulette? We used to have a few more Paulette’s on the forum, but they have drifted away for the most part. I always welcome someone to fangirl over Paul with me.
Some people called us Paulverts – yeah, we deserved it!

I’m working my way through his whole catalogue. Partly inspired by this amazing long watch:
I honestly can’t believe how many truly brilliant songs the man has written. I also watched Give My Regards To Broad Street last night and unironically enjoyed it!
