Yay! Way to go, Necko!

How is your wrist? How is your back?

I gave an oral presentation as a final project for a class.  It was the last thing I had to do this semester.  I am now (unofficially) a college graduate.

Congrats! That must feel so good!

I appreciate all the kind support and well-wishes.

Unfortunately, I will not know my final grades until the weekend, so I cannot say for sure that I have graduated.  Seriously, though, my final grade in this class and others is the difference between being a college graduate and being a college dropout (my parents cannot afford another extra semester).  I really hope that the presentation went well.

I'm Necko.  I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

The back is doing alright.  I am currently in a Physical Education class, which has further improved my condition.

My back is better, because of a Physical Education class.

To be honest, I forgot that I even mentioned the wrist problems on this site.  It’s alright.  I’m still wearing the splint, because  I injured that arm again over Thanksgiving Break, so it might be a longer time to heal.

I know quite a bit about retention and graduation rates and how they impact the funding for higher education institutions. I doubt you will need that extra semester, but if you do, I am sure your school will work with you on a financial aid package to get you through to graduation. It is as important to them as it is to you that you graduate.

Congratulations, Necko!!!
Hope it’s official and that you’ll find out as soon as possible.

@UnidentifiedFiendishThingy Glad your dad’s okay! Hope he feels completely back to normal soon and has no more issues in the future.

I agree with Joe. I think that girl left the door open pretty wide. If she said it’d be different if you had acted sooner an meant it, then that means she likes you as more than a friend, although it’s good that you’re friends either way now. When this relationship of hers ends (and it will eventually) you’ll be there ready.
It might even be an upside that you didn’t act right away and things are working as they are, because now you’ll really get to know her now.

Congrats Merch!

I hope everyone who’s sick gets well soon.

To answer the topic question – nothing.

I’m trying to think of ways to make something happen – just kind of drifting along waiting for the financial hammer to fall is getting a bit old.  Trouble is, it is so hard to get life moving along with no transport and less money.

At the moment I am really wanting to go out and meet someone nice of the opposite gender type of thingie, but have no idea where to look (it has been almost 30 years since I had to look and even then my 3-month-left-to-be-ex-missus was foisted on me by friends).  Plus I couldn’t afford to buy a coffee if I needed to and asking anyone to walk somewhere on a date even if I found someone would hardly be the most romantic start.

Don’t mind me – just rambling :)

Ramble away, @trcanberra – we are all good listeners.

For a start, try a public place like a park where people are already walking about. Then, just be your honest, charming self.

Everything starts with simple conversation. Good luck.

I see those old shows where a couple is walking along down a sidewalk and my first thought is “oh, how romantic!”. And the commercials where a couple is walking along in a park and reach out and take each other’s hand … heart There are women out there who are just waiting to walk with you, @trcanberra. Get yourself to the park, grasshopper!

@Ahhh Girl and @Zig are right, @trcanberra, you shouldn’t let your financial situation hinder your love life. There are women out there for whom that is not an issue. My (ex) wife (we were thirty years together) is like that; my current fiancée is like that. I know of many cases like that (friends’ spouses, etc.) Or try to meet someone online; develop an online relationship and be honest about your situation. You’ll be amazed at how many lonely ladies there are out there.

Just be careful @trcanberra, not a good idea to walk up to a lady you don’t know and ask if she wants to go for a walk outside, just the two of you.
