I’m sorry to hear that @Ahhh Girl People often take for granted the miracles of modern medicine. Going on the operating table is always risky. I had a bad reaction to anesthesia during my third shoulder surgery and ended up giving myself an abrasion on my eyeball which made the recovery 10x worse.

Covid is going around to a lot of my students, right before the recital. All the hard work we’ve put in and they aren’t going to get show off what they can do. I know they’re really disappointed, as am I. On the other hand I’m going to get to meet the other teachers from my company in person for the first time tomorrow so I’m excited for that, then my girlfriend graduates Sunday so I’ll get a fancy dinner from her parents.

The election is near @The Hole Got Fixed. I feel like a Labor win is coming, it’s just by how much.

Yep, first time voting federally for me!a-hard-days-night-john-6

I can’t see our *delightful* PM being returned, thank god. My thinking is it’ll be a narrow Labor majority (~80 seats) but it could just as easily be a minority government relying on the Greens or Teal independents. Hope you’re enjoying WA getting so much media coverage this electionahdn_john_08_gif

Ahhh Mom had a wild reaction to the Versed they gave before the surgery. The surgeon didn’t feel comfortable proceeding with the operation. He said they want to do the operation at a hospital instead of the surgery center. I asked him if he knew when it could be rescheduled, and he has no idea. He usually doesn’t do operations in hospitals so he has to schedule a time slot. It could be a long time, but we are hoping for the best.

So, she is still hurting along with being sad and upset the operation didn’t happen.

So sorry to hear that AG. Hopefully he can find a slot in the near future and the second time around works a charmheartheart

Speaking of having an extra problem to deal with when recovering from a surgery, @sir walter raleigh, when Ahhh Mom got her last pacemaker, they used silk tape with the bandage. She broke out in the most horrendous rash! It was way worse than just the small incision for the actual operation.

My three month summer holiday (1/2 paid) has been confirmed and commences at the start of June. Nothing definitely planned and won’t be spending any time in hotels (I now get bored of the familiarities, routines after three days and long for a home cooked meal), instead preferring the idea of getting a travel pass to enable daily journeys to wherever.

Paul once spoke of getting in the car with Linda and driving off, never looking at the road signs and ending up wherever seemed nice. I’ve always loved that idea, the freedom and adventure it brings. Obviously I can’t drive a car (not having a licence makes it illegal and jail isn’t an ideal vacation) but randomly jumping on and off buses and trains without much care or concern sounds fantastic fun. I did it once back in 2008 and is one of the most enjoyable things I’ve done – ended up in a small village sitting in the glorious sunshine beside a river before heading to the pub for a drink. Couldn’t tell you how to get back there.

Had my second interview for a job. I feel there’s a good chance I’ll get it. A decision is made on Tuesday. I’m now laying here in bed listening to The Beatles, enjoying my free time.

My plan in the summer was to go around Scotland and to parts of England but there could be about three trains serving the entire UK thanks to strikes etc which could prove to make it very difficult. Scotland already has a temporary timetable in place as train drivers are refusing to work overtime in a row over pay and conditions; the last train to where I live is at 7:30pm.

I have worked my last shift at work for at least three months. It’s became a relief to be away but I won’t go into it.

RIP Florian Schneider

I was actually planning on seeing Kraftwerk live this summer before all this Corona craziness took over.

This concert finally happened last Thursday.

Ahhh Mom had her knee replacement surgery on Wednesday. She is in so much pain. I hate to see her like this. Her first therapy appointment is at 1 today.

So sorry to hear that AG. My sister-in-law had the same surgery a few years ago (67 years old). She said she felt better 48 hours after the surgery and was completely pain free after 6 weeks of light rehab. Hope Ahhh Mom has a similar experience. heart

Having been off work for a few days I realised I need to be around people more, been so insular for so long – even at work I hid behind my job. Have therefore made efforts to see some people, which has been good without self-defeating, and ask a couple of people for help, something I rarely do. A short term work colleague also got in contact from nowhere and is helping massively by being someone who is happy for me to talk frightfully honestly without fear or recrimination.

I realise I have to change things in life and what drives me on is that not doing so is far worse than things continuing as they are. Scary tho.
