Applied for a new job. I hope to get an interview at least.
Got a haircut – I’m like 1965 John now.
It’s been hot here. Mainly been staying inside, playing games, reading and sleeping.

Waiting to go to the cinema, going to see ‘The 355’, because it’s the only bearable looking film I haven’t yet seen, before ‘Scream’.
Out of interest. When did film makers give up calling films new names? ‘Scream’ with Neve, Courtney etc came out in 199(?); Couldn’t they be bothered thinking of a new title for this one. Same goes for ‘Halloween’. I think with ‘Suicide Squad’ they at least had a five second think before adding/removing ‘The’ (I forget the order, both were crap films).

Yes, I hope you get an interview, @Timothy. If you do, be prepared to ask questions to make sure the job is right for you.
I brought the whole bottle of Excedrin Migraine tablets to work today. I’m the only librarian here today. I hope I can make it through the day.

I’ve been busy with school the last two weeks. Last week I went to the opening of Raising Caines in my college town and ended up winning free Caines for a year. Also, my last Paul McCartney Archive came in the mail not too long ago. I’ve also been growing my hair out. It’s now longer than I’ve ever had it before.

I’ve been growing my hair out, too. I haven’t had it this long in years. I plan to cut it at the beginning of February, for the Lunar New Year, because I vaguely remember reading a book when I was a kid that cutting your hair at New Years was some kind of luck-bringing Chinese tradition. I’m pretty sure other cultures have also said that cutting your hair at New Years will be cutting your luck in half. Idk, I just planned to do it then

Awaiting the delivery of a new laptop…
Lenovo V15 15.6-inch Laptop, AMD Ryzen 3 3250U 2.6GHz APU, 36 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Windows 10 Pro.
It’s actually a heavily pimped Lenovo V15, with the RAM upgraded from 8GB to 36GB, the memory upgraded from 256GB M.2 SSD to 1TB M.2 NVMe PCle SSD, and the Windows 10 Pro OS also being an upgrade.
With the help of a loan, about twice the amount I’ve paid for a laptop before. Over £700, whereas previously it’s been between £300-£400, usually closer to £300.
Meant to be delivered today. Annoyingly they tried early yesterday and I was asleep, made it to the buzzer just as the delivery guy gave up, and rushed downstairs to see him driving away.
First time I’ve switched laptops with the current one still functional, but this ASUS has been s***e from the moment I got it (never had the amount of problems with any other laptop that I’ve had with this piece of crap), so good to know that I’ve got a back-up now if needed, but better to know I’ll soon have my hands on a laptop that’s hopefully a better performer (though it would be hard to be worse).

New laptop is up and running. It’s such a pleasure to have a boot-up of seconds rather than ten to fifteen minutes.
Also switched from pay-as-you-go mobile broadband (7GB for £25) to a 24-month contract unlimited broadband for £22 a month (though half prize for the first 6 months, along with a £50 Amazon voucher or Mastercard payback when they take their first payment from my account). Can be used as a wireless connection or USB connection, so when out and about you can just have it in your pocket. Not actually turned on yet, as I had 11GB of paid for data to use up, and wasn’t getting a response from it yesterday (it says in the bumf that came with it that the # can take up to 72 hours to be activated).
Hope I don’t have to end up on the phone with support trying to work it out when the time comes.
No longer being on a metered connection is going to make so much difference. No more needing to worry whether my data is gonna get me through to the next payday or if I’m gonna have to have a few days on the phone. No more spending £200-£300 a month on the interweb (which is the best bit of all).

In bed with COVID. Quite impressed with myself I’ve managed to avoid it thus far! Luckily it’s not been too bad so far.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Well, the unlimited broadband is now in use. I struggled a bit working out how to do it, but once I read the little instruction booklet and discovered there was an on/off button I hadn’t noticed , it was full steam ahead.
Currently downloading Sims 4 from Origin, which hasn’t been on my last laptop or two because it was proving so expensive (more expensive to download on a metered broadband than to buy! Base game 18GB = 7GB @£25 x 2 + 4GB, so probably around £60 to download, and then there’s all the expansions and game packs).
I’m getting download speeds of up 8GB/sec at the minute, never went above 1.5GB/sec on the PAYG (and that was rare).
Still gonna take a fecking age to download the Sims though!

School is continually getting more and more crazy as the semester goes on, but I guess 2 math classes will do that.
Friday was may birthday and I had a party over at this house my buddies live in. It was a lot of fun!
I’ve also found myself joining the social media team at the institute which I can add to my list of involvement there. I’ve made 2 videos that have been posted on the Instagram page, one showing off the good places to study at the institute, and the one for this week, about our weekly activities.
On Saturday I am DJing for a valentines day dance. My friends and I are putting it on, and they thought I’d be good as the DJ, and I thought it sounded fun, so I’m now committed. Don’t worry, I will play a good deal of Beatles songs, including Paul’s “My Valentine ” which is an essential considering the theme.

Got shut out of early imax release, so I’ll be seeing it on the 4th with everybody else. Also a recent renaissance of Batman Comics with lots of excellent lines currently going.
