Right now, I’m trying to get in contact with Little Piggy Dragonguy. They approached me more than a month ago in a conversation. I responded fairly soon, but never got a response back, even though I know they have sporadically been on the forum since.

If anyone knows LPD well, can you please tell them to get back to me?

@Toxic34.

If you wanting to get @Little Piggy Dragonguy’s attention, use the @function so nobody else gets involved in this kind of this. You will find the instructions on how to mention/notify someone here. A directory of many posters original user names (as some users have changed the names they signed up with) can be found here if required.

I wasn’t aware that this particular request was anything against the rules. I  certainly thought that by not mentioning certain things, I was already in the clear. Thank you all for alerting me, and I’m sorry to have caused trouble.

Don’t ask people to contact someone else for you. If the person wants to converse with you, they will in their own time. And, you’ve already made clear before that you want LPD to join in your timeline project. It’s all the same thing.

My being has waited all day and night of Monday until it’s 2:45am Tuesday morning (approximately) to start coughing. Now, there feels like someone has put a few shards of a wooden cocktail stick in my throat along with a small bag of sand that is timed to sprinkle just enough grains to stop me sleeping. No matter what I drink or how many lozenges I swallow nothing helps.

Thankfully, I’ve grown used to sleepless nights and making up for it during the day; if the body needs sleep, I sleep.

Still struggling to get a bank account opened for my benefit payments to be made into because the Government are closing the Post Office account I’ve been using. Lacking photo ID because I don’t have a driver’s licence or passport makes it all more complicated on proof of identity, with wrong information being given along the way making it more drawn out.

Thought we had everything in place yesterday having finally secured a letter from my GP (doctor) confirming my address and that I have been a patient at the surgery since 1995. Had to come from the head of the GP practice and he was a complete pain about providing the letter. It was requested by my counsellor three weeks ago, and I was told at different times that it was in the post, or available for collection, until we were told last week that it hadn’t been done because they needed a letter of consent from me, in which I pointed out that had I been told when the request was first made a letter of confirmation was needed when the letter was first asked for it could have already been done.

He was still sniffy about it, saying it was non-NHS service that they don’t usually do, but provided the letter anyway – and thankfully didn’t charge me for it as at one point it was suggested there would be a charge of £100 for the letter.

When we’d (me and counsellor) first gone into the bank I’m looking to open the account with, we were told it wouldn’t be a problem using a benefit, even though my benefits mail goes to my counsellor’s address because the postman kept delivering letters to the wrong address, mixing up 12 ********* Court with 12 ********* Close, and me seeing my benefits messed up as a result because I hadn’t replied to letters in time.

The benefits agency are now sending a letter to my home address confirming I’m in receipt of benefits, which will be the last piece of proof of identity to get this sorted – hopefully.

Was very concerned as my next payment is due on Friday, and I was told by the benefits agency that no payments would be made into my account after the end of October. Today learned that they are extending it into November because so many people are in the same situation as me, and that my next payment will/should go into my Post Office account on Friday. Thank feck and, again, hopefully.

Lucky I didn’t just toss away my card when I emptied the account yesterday thinking that would be the last time I’d have any use for it. I almost did.

So, because benefits send everything second class post (or slow mail), I should get the letter next week, and have a bank account for the first time since the 1980s. It will make life so much easier and save me money, as I’ll be able to do things like switch from pay-as-you-go mobile broadband (£25 for 7GBs) to an annual contract for unlimited mobile broadband (£16 a month with my current provider).

They don’t make these things fecking easy. Rant over.

Have an appointment next Tuesday at the hospital to hear how the chemo’s gone, and what happens next with the treatment (well, surgery, obviously, but how invasive it needs to be, and if they think at this stage another round of chemo will be needed after).

Best of luck to you @Ron Nasty. I hope the treatment results are good.

I’ve got Covid. Double jabbed (AZ), but I spent the weekend with a fever and a banging headache. Now I have a sore throat that feels like laryngitis, and my senses of taste and smell vanished today sometime between breakfast and lunch.

My kids picked up the virus last week. They’re fine now, but Elle and I are both feeling pretty awful. We’re on the mend though.

I had a fever for 9 days with Covid back in December. I just felt wiped out. Slept a lot. I hope you and Elle get over this quickly, @Joe.

Here’s hoping you and Elle are soon feeling better, @Joe.

Luckily, in some ways, because of the cancer and the chemo, I’m considered immunocompromised and have already had my third jab (along with the flu jab). Feeling a bit like a pincushion of late.

First day back at work properly (well I managed one day last week then went off for another seven) and it’s got to the point of being like a primary school playground filled with 5-year olds having tantrums over the injustice of who got the first choice of snack. It really is pathetic at times.

My covid booster has been rescheduled for the third time (all on my side of changes) and is a week Saturday.
I am booked to go to Aberdeen at the beginning of December for six nights for the first real time away since covid (I did go for one night to Aberdeen a couple of months ago).

Joe and Ron, may you both have sustained periods of good health over the coming months. Can’t and don’t want to imagine what you’ve both been thru.

My right eye was in the wrong place at the wrong time this morning. Sacher Torte’s paw scraped across my eyeball. It is a bit painful. I flushed it quickly. I hope that keeps any infection away.

Managed one full day last week and a further five hours yesterday at work before having to go home as my deteriorating health meant I could not function (I has to leave very quickly as in said that I was going home and then left). Today I have not even left the house and tomorrow will contact the GP and my consultant.
It’s not great.

Hi, thanks to all who wished me well during my recent Covid bout. I took some time out to get better, and my 10-day quarantine comes to an end at midnight – I have barely any food left in the house, so the first trip will be to the supermarket to buy all the things.

That said, I still have no senses of taste and smell. The only thing I can taste is spicy food, and that’s really just the tingles on the tongue. Food is basically just texture at the moment, which has completely curbed my junk food habits. If there’s a choice between unhealthy food I cannot taste or healthy food I cannot taste, I might as well eat the good stuff. Sorry crisps and biscuits, I’m sure we’ll meet again.

More generally I cannot wait to get out of the house and just wander through the parks and up to the lake near where I live. Although I’m feeling a lot better I’m still in that post-viral phase of low energy and low-level depression, so I’m going to treat myself well for the next few days.

To all those struggling with ill health right now, do look after yourselves.
